We called the top number of the two, and they were able to cancel both agreements and provide two sets of cancellation numbers and refund codes. Do NOT take it lying down - call them, DEMAND a full refund and threaten them with legal action etc if they try to fob you off. They gave in pretty easily when we contacted them!
  • Trying to get through to these people is a nightmare! Does this call cost a fortune or what??? Last thing I need!!
  • Finally got through. Have been offered a 50% refund. No happy but have cancellation codes. Just waiting for confirmation via email.

    What a lesson learnt!!!
  • 0808 numbers in the UK are freephone, same as 0800

SalG - you should ring back and demand a FULL refund. Tell them you've done your research online and seen that others are getting their money back and you know it's a scam, and threaten further action against them if they don't comply!
  • Its happend to us again, My wife somehow got involed with this company over 1 year ago and now it has happend again right out of the blue.
Where they got her credit card details we do not know.
Now we have had £ 150 removed from the Bank with no authorisation.
I call them and they just say its all in the " Terms and Conditions"
    What a big Scam!!!!
£ 75 for a small bottle with bubbled Gel.
Do we as honest Uk citizens have any redress from this american company at all and the way they do business ?
To all out there do not get involved with this company.
PS I have to spend more money now to travel to my local post office and pay for the return at My cost.
I will not be reimbursed for this I know

I would suggest rather than making your phone bills extortionate you should just bombard them with emails. I did this every other day and eventually got my money back. Good Luck.

***What e-mail address did you write to the one I have has not replied to my e-mails and no one ever answers the phone!***

I got the phone number off here I think it was on page 11 and there are also email addresses on here too. I am with Lloyds TSB and they have been great, not sure if they put my money back in my account or this 'scam' company but at least I have had a full refund. So please don't give up, threaten them with everyone and everything and keep trying on the phone, took me 20 minutes to get through but well worth it in the end, just insists on your money back, no 50% discounts just a full refund.....

Good luck everyone and please don't give up.
  • I too fell victim of this scam, which I cannot believe I was so stupid to go for in the first place. I'm always usually so careful of anything, having had my debit card previously cloned after shopping online. I was lucky enough to smell a rat in time and although they took two payments from my account, one for £79.99 and one for £74.99, I managed to cancel the subscription within the 14 day trial period (only just though!) and requested a refund. They didn't reply to my first email, other than a standard reply saying it would be dealt with within 48 hours, but I emailed them again immediately the 48 hours was up and threatened them with legal action if they didn't refund my money immediately. To my complete surprise, after reading all the other posts, I got a refund within days for the full amount! So, my advice to anyone trying to get a refund is to be persistent. I had written off the money and put the whole thing down to experience, and was just grateful that I was able to only lose the money that I had. The only downside is that I panicked so much about them taking more money (which I didn't have) that I took the drastic step of cancelling my debit card, and I'm now waiting for the new one to arrive. Small price to pay though.

I have never been the type of person to apply for free samples but in hard times when buying a small face cream is a struggle and a real luxury I too sucummed to this scam. I only recieved one tub of moisturiser and have been debited for £79.99 and £74.99. Being a small amound I stupidly used my debit card and my bank seems very disinterested. I will now stuggle to cope for the rest of the month this being the rest of my money for my food bill. I've had no luck so far with a refund via email and can't risk ringing the number for the risk of a large phone bill. Anyone have an address for them, I have the Livingston one which I've returned the cream to. Any help much appreciated, will think twice about any shopping online again and certainly not on ebay since they are advertising this produced regardless.

Antonine; I have googled '0808 numbers'; as far as I can see, they are freephone, but the usual caveat applies if you use a mobile. Like so many others I, too, have been caught out by this scam (I couldn't see any reference to Terms and Conditions when I applied, so foolishly continued the process), but I was fortunate to have used my credit card, not a debit card - MBNA were very helpful and calm (anyone else caught out, do check out the messages from the MBNA rep and contact them for reassurance, but be aware you may have to accept the initial hit of approx £154 unless the company contact reacts by offering an immediate refund). You do have to wait a while for any answer from the provided number, and have to wait longer again to be transferred to an English-speaker. For me the connection was not a good one and the contact took ages to get my name right, which hardly improved my temper. However, I was surprised to gain promises of cancellations and refunds for both products and have since received e-mails confirming these, having insisted on having such confirmation in writing. As others have said, be persistent; mentioning legality (or otherwise) worked for me. I do agree with others that phoning the company to cancel your contract is vital - it's comparatively quick, compared to e-mailing and waiting hopefully for a reply and so much faster than the post. One thing; at the time I hadn't read any of the above forum messages, so didn't ask for a cancellation code of my contract (you will have two, one for each product) and although I received these in the e-mails that followed it may be a good idea to get them direct from your contact so you have some port of call if you need to contact them again - I suspect I was further aided by my insisting the contact gave me their full name and employee ID number, which they found rather daunting as it implied I would definitely be following the call up if there were any problems.
I haven't received my actual refunds yet, but it's only been a couple of days.
I don't know if this helps, but wish you luck.
