That's great news. I can't see how they could come back to Lloyds when you have been given cancellation codes. Your email and others have persuaded me to try again to recover my money as so far I have only managed to cancel future supplies. I am not impressed with the way MBNA have handled my complaint as other banks seems to have been more helpful. Incidentally they have rebranded as Mystique and Luminance and again their ads are all over the internetand this time their Tcs and Cs have a whole lot of umbrellas about things they won't be liable for!!!
  • already had to close one account after these scammers had taken £194 out!I went on my bank statement today and they've taken the same amount out again, that's £388 all together! Rang their 0808 number which happens to be in the Phillipines!!qouted the thread about the ASA and advertising, told them i'd informed the fraud team at my bank and also threatend them with the police,i've been promised a full refundad was given refund codes,so it's just a wait and see situation now so fingers crossed!!!
  • Hi,
Further to my thread a few weeks ago, I would advise everyone NOT to give up. I was also scammed to the tune of £155 and at first was told that I could not get a refund as I had agreed to the terms and conditions. These were not available when I ordered, but as I was only ordering a "FREE" trial, for the cost of the postage only, I was not too bothered. My experience was similar to everyone else, but I did get a full refund, and some tips that I found useful are:-
1- Phone, not email, at first. Do it in the early hours of the morning, say 1-00am as you are more likely to speak to someone in the USA who you can understand. Get a cancellation number ( confirmed by email).
2- Persist in asking for a refund. Tell them that if you do not get this within 30 days you will contact Trading Standards, the press, and your banks' fraud department will investigate and persue them for the money ( I had already done this ).
3 - Tell them you are alergic to the product, and it has given you skin problems.
4- Get everything confirmed by email.

When I did 2 & 3 I was told to hold while he spoke to a supervisor. When he came back he gave me two refund numbers, and said that a full refund would be made in 7-10 days. I received it on the 7th day.
Strangely, he said that I would receive another pack of goods, but just to send them back to the Edinburgh address. I told him in no uncertain term that I did not want anything else and NOT to send them. Low and behold, two weeks later a package arrived with THREE bottles of each product. I immediately emailed them and said that these were unsolicited goods and I had no obligation to return them, but if the wanted them back I would do so upon receipt of a pre-paid label. The reply to this email, three days later, just said that they had looked into my email and confirm that the account has been closed and a full refund given. No reference was made to the additional goods. I gave them 14 days to send me a pre-paid label, which was 18 days ago, or I would dispose of the goods. I do not expect to hear from them again, but will keep the goods, unused, just in case !
If they can send £465 worth of goods just like that, it indicates what they actually cost ( as with most cosmetics), and what a racket this is.
As a point of interest, my bank, Santander, advised me not to close or change my account as it would not make any difference to what their fraud department would do to recover the money, providing I had an email from the company with a cancellation number, which I did, and that I had emailed them requesting a refund within 30 days, which I also did.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE TRYING TO GET A REFUND.

Everyone needs to wise up here, two different payments and card entries to the same firm that operate from a PO Box in Scotland and their phone contact is in America, come on folks really,do me and yourselves a favour!
  • Report them to the FTC by filling in this complaint form:

The FTC can take legal action to seize assets from scam companies and can make them refund consumers.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Unfortunately, none of these facts were obvious at the time of signing up to the 'free trial' - do you really think so many people would fall foul of it if it was that obvious?
  • Hi, I'm also a newbie. As a result of being an idiot and not reading the extremely small small print. I have lost £225 through signing up for a free trial of revitaderm. I rang the company to cancel and they had the cheek to offer me a 50% discount if I carried on using the products. They sent me 2 bottles of serum in a space of 3 days they took the money from my card a week before i received them. They took 4 payments in 2 days. I rang my credit card company and asked if I could stop any future payments but they said the only thing I can do is order a new card, which I've now done. I asked revitaderm for a refund but you can guess what the answer was!
Lets just say a lesson learnt and from now on I will read all small print!
  • I have also been informed by my bank today that I have been a victim of this rouge company! I have contacted the fraud department who are sending me out a form to cancel this agreement (the agreement I had no idea I had entered into). I have also cancelled my debit card and hope to god they dont take anything else out. I've had two payments taken out of my account, £51 and £75 in January.

I am struggling to find contact details for this company/companies other than a overseas telephone number. Does anybody have an email address for these rouges??????

    I FEEL SUCH AN IDIOT!!!!:(:(:(

  • After reading t&c's after concerns about my "FREE TIRAL" I've tried calling the number listed on their site but it wont connect. I tried 118118 and they had only one listing but when I called it it was nothing to do with the company. Does anyone have a number for their customer services that actually works. ??? I am absolutely frantic as I dont have money to pay for reccuring orders of that ammount.
