    Hi there,
I hope I'm not too cheeky in asking for this Nerys' number at all?

are people still e-mailing antonio now that he's signed off?

We've been waiting for ages and keep getting fobbed off.
I should imagine that they're still picking up his e-mails, even if he is off sick. To be honest, they probably get redirected and screened before they reach him anyway.

I'd e-mail, and wait to see who gets back to you. You might get a call from Nerys, or you might get someone else. It could just be coincidence that we're all getting contacted by the same person...

Sorry to put a dampener on this but when I did this my call back simply came out with the same aul bull about backlogs and unable to give time scales!! Was it just a case that the person that contacted me was not as helpful as others or do I need to emphasise the point that I what my money asap a bit more. Halifax are most definitely looking at claims at random but I have also read people on here say that there cases have been marked as urgent when they get a call back! Im confused as halifax seem to be contradicting themselves

    Hello all.
This is my first post as I have had no need to seek advice before. Being able to follow people's own stories has been helpful though so thanks to all.

Now though I'm sat on the fence with regards an offer from the Halifax regarding my mortgage PPI. The upshot is they have offered me and the wife £11.5k. However, this is made up of 3 elements. Life cover, critical illness cover and MRC (unemployment cover). I have been told I can cancel or keep certain elements if I do or don't accept the offer. In the case of MRC this equates to £5k of the offer. Part of me wants to not claim this back as it could be useful should the unfortunate happen and I was to be left unemployed and you can't get this cover anymore. The other part of me wants the money back to do with as I please.

I'd be very interested to hear if anyone else is in this dilemma or what others may think. I'm open to all suggestions.

Also, as someone with a mortgage, what sort of cover is best as I will have to take out new policies for the ones I claim on.

    Thanks peeps.

Might as well add that I also have some old paid off loans and CCs claims still in calulations.

    Claimed in May 2011
Acceptance forms received by Halifax 2nd September
Still no offers after 60+ days
  • Spoke to claim handler still no further with mine was told the same we have a massive backlog bla bla bla on week 10 now!!

You are in the same boat as me, I have been waiting around 10 weeks too. I phoned last week for the third time and was told "big backlog etc etc". The guy I spoke to was nice enough and even suggested it was in my favour to be kept waiting as I would get more interest. I stopped short of telling him I just want the money.

I am not expecting to to hear anything soon, in fact I would not be surprised if its next year before I find out how much I am getting back. I have emailed the CEO and that has still gotten me no further forward. Its becoming a bit ridiculous.

Posted on success thread too, success with Bank of Scotland credit card of about £1600, the 12 week period was up on Monday of this week, letter dated 1st November(Tuesday), then when we checked tonight, the redress was paid to the credit card account on Tuesday also, although leaving us with a sizeable credit limit, ie owed to us, the payment clears tonight so will phone again on monday to get money transferred back to bank account.
Thanks to all the competition posters.

Lemonie1985 and Scottyedin, I'm exactly the same as you guys, on week 10 next week. Emailed CEO Thursday, got a call yesterday with the same blab that I get every time I call up. Losing hope that the calculations and cheque will be here by xmas. Nice to know on the news that RBS made a £2billion profit, probably our intrest on our money that they are holding back due to "back logs" contributed to some of that profit
  • Hi All

I too am in the week 10 gang. I phoned again on Friday and got the usual fob off, still with calculations, back log etc... I sent an e-mail to the CEO on Friday and received a call from Nerys this morning. She has told me to ring back in a couple of days to get an update on where my case is. Here's hoping all of us get some good news soon!
  • Makes me chuckle that they can respond to an email to the CEO address, in writing, in 4 days but they can't send me figures after 68 days. TO be honest, they wasted the price of a second class stamp telling me the same line everyone else is getting, sorry for the delay blah blah blah.

Guessing I won't see a penny from them before Christmas which is a shame!

As of today I too have joined the 10 week since my acceptance forms were received by the Halifax club (personal loans/CCs) with no offer.

My mortgage ppi (also with Halifax) is, in contrast, further down the line. They have offered me an amount to accept and I have a few weeks to accept or decline.

Why has the mortgage offer got a deadline whereas normal loans don't have a deadline at all?
