Today I had a cheque from Halifax for £239 for PPI I had on a CC. Im pleased its a nice windfall, but i am slightly confused. I had the initial "sorry to hear of your complaint" letter months ago, have not had anything since, until today when the cheque arrived, no calculation letter or acceptance letter either.

I have an outstanding balance of about £400 on the card, im curious to know if the cheque is the 8% interest and the balance has been cleared or if the cheque is the full amount??

If you've not received anything at all, I'd give them a call. The number on the letter I got is: 0845 601 4034 which is their 'customer relations' department. Did you get a letter with your cheque? If so, you might have a claim reference (mine's 6 digits: 9#####) that you can give them.

Just sent an email to Antonio after calling the not very helpfull customer services team (again). Here's hoping I get some response soon as it is becoming so frustrating - being patient really isnt paying off

A big well done to everyone in their successes so far and here's hoping the wait isnt too much longer for those, like me, waiting patiently or otherwise :D

Am sure I have read when its a CC they put the money in your CC account, then raise a cheque from that CC account and send it to you. Don't know for definite but am sure I have read this a few times on the forum. Well done though :T

In the same situation with regards to my CC,hopefully be getting a cheque soonish then

I chased my remaining cheques and apparently a letter was raised with all 4 of my remaining cheques.

Should receive them in the next couple of days hopefully.

to calculations yet!!! they received it back 3/9, couldny give me a date.
I read on the main forum last night, that someone had sent there claim
for ppi off in july and received payment this week!!! how can this happen:mad::mad:
  • Hi all,
    I claimed in july,
    Their deadline was 21 october.
They letter arrived 22 october with the offer, I only had to reply if i DIDNT want to accept.
I rang on the 24th and asked how long the payment would take, but they couldn't say I also rang the ombudsman and they said it would be 8 to 10 weeks.
The cheques arrived on the 25th October.
