Halifax PPI redress Payments

Hi
I had my letter from the Halifax on the 5th September and accepted straight away and am still waiting for the payment- any one know how long they take to pay?
Hi,
A lot of people are still waiting for their monies from acceptances sent back and received by the Halifax by 26/08/11 this obviously indicates how very slow they are at paying out. I would not hold your breath.
Good luck.Money Saving-Reclaiming-And Won!!!:j:j:j:j:j
£33,000 refunded!!! :j:j:j:j:j0 -
HI,
I have a letter from a case handler stating that my 3 Halifax CC claims will be refunded within 30 days of the date of the letter (27th Sept). This means that the Halifax have today got until 04/11/11 to pay up. Thats 8 working days away today.
I sent these acceptances back at the end of August and they were received by the Halifax then as well.
So The Countdown Begins;);););););)
According to my conversation with the FOS they expect payments to be made between 8 and 10 weeks, this conicidentally is also the same date!:eek::eek::eek:Money Saving-Reclaiming-And Won!!!:j:j:j:j:j

Good news! So if I work on the basis of 10 weeks from the date they received my acceptance, I should hear from them by 16th November!0 -
I wonder if the Halifax is paying the added interest on the claims, given the length of time they are taking to pay out???
If they are, then perhaps we should all stay quiet, given that we are all getting 8% interest......
They have to pay the interest up to the date they send the cheque...and in my case they forgot to add the interest, I am still waiting on that cheque. And no we shouldn't stay quiet, if they weren't so greedy in the first place then we wouldn't be waiting on this money.£38,000 and change to £00 -

Persistence paid off, and I went to Asda this afternoon to find the Halifax had finally caved in and deposited £2506.78 into my account, rather than issuing a cheque.

Cheque on its way for £1178!!!! No idea whats going on with the ex, but I can hold out for that to be cleared up.
OMG that's brilliant, well done you. I got my money last Wed 19th and it was handed back out to those i owed money to as quickly as I received it, but it was still nice to be able to pay my dad back.
Enjoy.

No calculations have been done, they aren't allowed to give any times. Said there are no deadlines for psyment. I phoned FOS to see what they said and spoke to a most droll unhelpful young man. He basically agreed and said only alternative to waiting was to decline their offer and refer to FOS but would be at least 9 months. He was not very indterested at all.
So another weekend arrives and no nws for us:(:(
That was propbably the same man I spoke too who told me FOS wasn't an emergency service...like am i that stupid to think they answer 999 calls? Keep trying and DO NOT GIVE UP !!!

I got my money!! Last Wed and I got a call from HBOS too to apologise for the mess up. Was able to pay my dad back some of what I owed him so I was pleased. The rest went on work stuff.
Thanks everyone, when I am debt free I promise to donate to MSE.

I was just saying that when we do eventually get our claims paid, we will only be getting 4% or so when we put the cheque in the bank......
So the Halifax are currently paying us 8%..........
Where else will you get that at the moment?0 -
Today I had a cheque from Halifax for £239 for PPI I had on a CC. Im pleased its a nice windfall, but i am slightly confused. I had the initial "sorry to hear of your complaint" letter months ago, have not had anything since, until today when the cheque arrived, no calculation letter or acceptance letter either.
I have an outstanding balance of about £400 on the card, im curious to know if the cheque is the 8% interest and the balance has been cleared or if the cheque is the full amount??0
