For me, Monday is 8 weeks since they received and scanned my acceptance form in, so I think I might just send a nice e-mail off to the CEO too, if it means I get the direct contact details of my claims handler, then that's good.

Edit: well, for good or ill, that's that sent!

    Hi All,

It seems to me after reading the posts on this thread that very few people have received any payment from the Halifax since returning their acceptances. If we all get the same answer from them when we call- i.e that they are very busy and have lots to do, HOW COME NONE OF OURS HAVE BEEN DEALT WITH?

I am currently on working day 30 of my reclaims being in the 'preparing calculations' state and also in receipt of a 30 day time scale letter from commencing the 26th September-but each day I call they are no further nearer to calculations.

They have very little time left to meet these deadlines, I expect these reclaims to be paid by 04/11/11, that's only two weeks away. I find it incredulous to believe that all 3 CC reclaims will be paid out by this date!

I say again 'HOW COME NONE OF OURS HAVE BEEN DEALT WITH?:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I wonder if the Halifax is paying the added interest on the claims, given the length of time they are taking to pay out???

If they are, then perhaps we should all stay quiet, given that we are all getting 8% interest......

On the last reclaims for my Halifax loans they had interested calculated to a certain date. They actually paid out beforehand and I received 'extra' but I still do not like waiting and with the Halifax stating that I will be financially recompensed for any delay does nothing for my appetite for receiving what I am owed.;);););)

I would rather have my dues now and not 6 months down the line...:eek::eek::eek:

  • I sent the email to the CEO two days ago, and got a call back from the same person that called me the last time I emailed the CEO, yesterday evening.
Yesterday morning I called the usual line to get the usual response, so how come this person who called me, said a cheque had been issued to me on the 18th???
She couldn't give me anything on the biggest amount owed to me though. I told her I didn;t want that as a cheque, I wanted it straight into my account as requested on the acceptance form, she couldn't gaurantee that for some reason, to which I said I didn't want a 2.5k cheque in an envelope that isn't sealed in their office....last time my cheques were in unsealed envelopes!!!! She said she'd try her best, gave me her direct line number, which I've never been given before, told I could ring her anytime, and she'd ring me back on Monday at the latest.....I get the distinct impression I'll be calling her.

At this point I'll add, if anyone hs managed to get one of the call centre staff to email the redress team like I did a couple of days ago, thats all fine that they are doing something helpful, but the redress dept won't get back to you for FIVE DAYS:eek::eek::eek: So the advice I give is to plan a double edged attack and do the CEO yourself and get the call centre to email,,,,,someone has to give, eventually.

SO here I sit, waiting for one cheque, and hopefully an account deposit. My ex partner is waiting for a call or letter for his 50% of the two he is owed. ..finally they have his contact details, even though they were supplied two weeks ago. The person that called me yesterday said he could verbally hand it over......everyone else has always stated he can only receive the funds, even though its technically mine, and he doesn't want it.

Further to my email yesterday to CEO just received a call at work (good job the boss was out!). anyway no further forward just lots of apologies and usual stuff about sheer volume of work etc. However at least I now have a direct line (instead of going through expensive number) and a name of my claim handler. she told me to ring her every week if i want and as soon as she receives the calculations she will be able to read the contents out to me. Not much progress but made me feel a bit better. I did ask her honestly if she thought it would be dealt with by xmas and she said she couldnt say as if it then wasnt she would be in trouble for saying it would be. Also asked her for FOS guidance on timescales for completing claims. When I said i was told that there were none last week she kinda mentioned that they do have an 8 week timescale for payment but she expects the FOS will be increasing this shortly. She could have been making that up though although she seemed very nice.

Original complaint received by Halifax - 2 Jun
    Uphold letter dated 27 August
Acceptance sent back 3 Sept by recorded delivery. didnt arrive so faxed copy on 9 sept. Both acceptances for same claim scanned onto system on 16 Sept

    C.x
Meant to say - i asked about them going in date order and she said they were!! but that if you complaint was for a loan or CC from the 80's then they would need to get documents from archive and that is what is taking the time so if a handler is working on something like that and there are say 3 or 4 claims for that person it is holding everyone elses claims up. Personally when I am waiting for a document at work to complete a task I put it to one side and start the next thing on my list until it comes in. I dont just sit twiddling my thumbs (although the lady assured me they arent sitting twiddling their thumbs).

Thats what happened to me and I called them again a couple of days later but still nothing so I sent another email. then low and behold 19.10.11 I received a chq. So keep on at them and something will happen.

I also sent my acceptance back 03.09
  • Our thoughts now are that they aren't doing it by date, but by sums. In that I mean they give you the lower valued cheques first and hold onto peoples bigger ones for dear might. All mine have come in amount order!!!!

30.8.11, is the date they received mine.

Not sure if that makes me exicted or not :) I have no idea how much mine are going to be so it could be an exciting prospect having lots of money waiting for me with the major down side being how long it will take for them to get their fingers out and pay us!!!

I am losing hope to have this sorted for xmas :(

I wouldn't hold your breath for xmas.
Depends when you sent the acceptance forms back, and even then that has no bearing on coughing up! Seems to me they are having issue with the dates between 26th August and 3rd September, with the odd sprinkling of people waiting since June....in fact edit that, all of us !!

Mine have been small amounts in comparison to most, with 2.5k being the biggest, the smallest being 215 quid, but it all started with 215 cheque, but with a three week between them up to today.

    Postie been.....no £1173 cheque today :(

antonio dot osorio at lloydsbanking dot com all lower case letters, no gaps ;)
  • My Claim Handler just called me, still no update, i am on week 7 of waiting now since they received my acceptence.

I am not holding out for Christmas at all, she said that there is no timescale for waiting for calculations and the 8 weeks is not true!!!

Well all i can say is bloody huirry up!! nothing else we can say, i have emailed CEO 3 times now and it has not made a blind bit of difference!!
