Hi,
I've sent a letter to MBNA asking for copy statements but heard nothing from them. I called them and after being put through to 2 different department I was eventually told to re-send a letter to the following with another cheque for £10 and it would be dealt with :
FAO Compliance Manager
MBNA Europe Bank, PO BOX 1004, Chester Business Park, Chester, CH4 9WW.
Should I re-send the letter and another cheque (first one hasn't been cashed) or send a letter asking for the information and stating I've already sent a cheque for £10?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, S0 -
Hi ss1973,
did you send original letter by recorded post ? When did you post it ?
i sent my letter asking for list of charges 12 days ago . I know they recieved it as i sent it recorded . I telephoned them 2 days ago as i had not recieved any sort of acknowledgement from them .
The chap said he would phone me back and did so within 20 mins .
He said my request was being delt with but they had up to 40 days in which to supply me with the information .0 -
Hi Bluesunshine,
I didn't send them recorded - but I've learnt my lesson and will in future. I sent the original letter on 11th January and I also sent letters to HSBC and A & L in the same post. HSBC have sent my cheque back and are in the process of sending the statement an A & L have cashed the cheque on the 16th Jan but still no statements!
Do you think I should send another cheque? They seemed helpful enough but knowing my luck with MBNA they'll cash 2 cheques if I send them.... and considering what I've worked out they owe already I'm very begrudging.
Thanks, S0 -

Hi ss1973,
i would send them another letter together with a cheque . Send it recorded and write your name address and mbna account number on the back of the cheque .
If they do cash both cheques then query it with them as to why they've both been cashed and ask for a refund on one of them .
Hope this helps0 -
Hi paulfulham ,
regarding your query about mbna , you should be able to claim back all your fees for late payment and going over your credit limit .
If you read through all the threads in this section you should get an idea of what people have successfully claimed back .
Hope this helps0 -
Thank's Bluesunshine,
I'll do it tomorrow

Hi Bluesunshine, I wrote to MBNA on 18 Jan and I've not heard anything back from them yet either, think they're gonna take their time and use up as much of the time we allow em as possible? I got a reply back from Morgan Stanley really quickly, but I only found £20 worth of charges (I guess I should be proud that I managed that account well lol)0
