  • Address for MBNA is in the above posts, I would send it to MBNA as any letter could pass round departments in RBS for some time before its dealt with.

thanks, will MBNA be able to look back to any charges that were applied to the account when it was held by RBS ?
If so, I'd imagine they'd be even more reluctant than usual to pay back any charges, saying that it was not them (MBNA) who imposed the charge ?
  • I've no idea but you have more chance of them looking into than RBS :)
  • Right ive finally got pen to paper and posted a recorded letter to MBNA asking them for a list of all charges made against my credit cards .

Will keep you posted on developements as they happen
  • My question regarding MBNA is, i am now on a deby management plan, have been for a year. One of my creditors is the MBNA, i know i have paid them quite a lot in charges, while being with them, for a number of months i was getting charged every month for something or other. Thing is tho, if i were to start claiming my charges back are they likely or can they even turn round, say our agreement of said payment each month is no good and that they want full payment in one go?

    Thanks for any help.
  • If its any help; I claimed £269 + interest 36.19 on December 31 on A&L credit card managed (if that's the right word) by MBNA. It used to be a good card with cashback and low interest - now its gone down the pan.

Holding reply only so snotty LBA letter sent Jan 21. I received a letter yesterday saying they will credit the card with £305.19 goodwill & usual BS - do it again and you're of the bus.

    Hi

I have got a Sony card that is now part of MBNA. Before MBNA took it over it was part of Bank of Scotland and it was during this time that I was charged fees, I havent been charged anything while MBNA. Does anyone know if I would reclaim agaisnt MBNA as they now hold my account or Bank of Scotland as it was them that made the charges??

    Thanks
  • As a post above but best to check if it was Bank of Scotland or Royal Bank of Scotland.
  • offering goodwill gestures based on them charging a £12 fee not the £25 - they will give me the difference. What do you think I should do, it's capital one, sainsburys and mbna? Is it worth holding out, the amounts I have claimed range from £150 - £500. Is this normal. Oh and mbna said if i refused their goodwill offer then my account would be closed (I owe them dosh but its ok moving it to a 0% interest one anyway).
    Any advice really appreciated.

Should you want the full amount and if you have nothing to lose in terms of the account being closed, I would be inclined to press on. It's likely that you will receive the whole amount back if you file a claim.
