If it is the person I was thinking of, her parents are extremely close to her and think very little of him. I believe he was banned from their house at one point. If she were not able to phone or ever have time to herself with the child they would be on to it immediately. Maybe I have it completely wrong, I hope so as I really like the person that first came to mind.

Who would really come on to MSE if they were afraid for their safety and worth a fortune. Its not the first site I would google for advice in the OPs situation

Surely the answer is easy - assuming the poster is genuine.

Phone Max Clifford when OH is out and sell your story.

That way OH won't dare harm you and you'll have some dosh to live on while you work out how you can get every penny from OH.

Assuming the poster is for real I doubt money would be a problem. Its not like the CSA would have difficutly tracing him or working out what his real income is! Or maybe they would, they aren't the sharpest pencils in the box are they

I can't remember the name of the book but I read a (fictional) story once where the wife of a famous actor was suffering DV and she decided to vanish. When she re-appeared after a much publicised search, it was at a press conference where she basically annouced she was a victim of DV.

I think Ive read that too, its a Jodi Picoult book?

I agree, she's very often pictured with her family, and appears to be very close to them so I find it hard to believe it would be her. Plus, as you say, MSE is an odd choice of forum to try to get advice. But then if this is a genuine post and she's trying to keep a low profile, then why not!

I have no idea either but only because I don't concern myself with the 'stars' lives, just hope if the OP is genuine she sorts herself soon :j

Think so but I can't remember the name of it.

Currently reading House Rules by her ......I just love the twists at the end of her books!

If the OP is genuine, then trying to figure out who she is has probably increased her worry and made her panic. I know you haven't used any names but chances are some plonker will read the description and post the guys name for all to see.

I realise posting on here wasn't the best place she could turn to but she has and if she is for real, then the guessing game is likely making things worse for her. Not trying to be horrible, it's just a thought
