I am married to a sports man and we have a son, everyone we know thinks we are really happy but he screams shouts and sometimes hits me.

I want to leave but how can I when I am being watched all the time? I am scared for my son. He would always find us, someone would recognise us.

He has mine and my sons passports, can I get copies with out him finding out?

You can report the passports stolen/lost, and apply for new ones. Although I think (not 100%) that if you do that you have to report it to the police and then pay for new ones too.

Do you have a member of family who would take you and your son in at the moment? Or even contact womens aid or refuge. For you and your sons sake you need to get out!

Why are you scared for your son, you say he hits you not your/his son. The obvious thing is to leave for your sake, in practice children are not always better off with Mum, if he is a sports man like you say, it probably on't be long before he finds someone to fill your place, so probably won't come looking for you, sports people are often self centred, what is it you argue about? Some 'small timers' like to attempt the wag lifestyle, look out for yourself and good luck.

Why/how are you being watched all the time? Does he not work/go out for his sport? If so can you plan a time he is out to go to family/friends?

I have no practical advice or experience but take care and good luck

Do you go nowhere alone? Next time you go to the shops/supermarket or whatever, take your son and go. To a relatives or friend, someone who will give you a safe place to be, until it all blows over.

    Too many reporters
  • When you say sportsman do you mean he's famous - why would you be recognisable?

I can't remember the name of the book but I read a (fictional) story once where the wife of a famous actor was suffering DV and she decided to vanish. When she re-appeared after a much publicised search, it was at a press conference where she basically annouced she was a victim of DV.

Yes he is famous, he was fine before, so lovely and caring, but he has changed so much.

What? They can't be everywhere unless you're Victoria Beckham. Even at that, these reporters aren't your husband. If you seriously fear for your own safety, go to the police. I'm pretty sure they can do something about the reporters too.
