  • I emailed a complaint rejecting the changes, but just got some vague reply back from the service centre in India, telling me to contact them if my first bill after the changes is 10% more than my other bill.

I really cant be bothered fighting with them again, it took me weeks to get a satisfactory outcome last time. I have 9 months left on my contracts, never again.

Don't bother with the customer service e-mail or telephone; they really don't understand the T&C's.
If you are sure that your Sep usage would be 10% higher under the new rates, then send a message to the CEO address (http://campaigns.vodafone.co.uk/guylaurence/) saying that you are invoking Clause 11(b) and terminating.
You should get a call back within a few days.
They will argue that it is the bill before the text was received, i.e. Aug. Stand your ground and tell them that is not what is written in the T&C's. They will call back later with the cancellation.
This has worked for a few on here.
  • Quoted from Vodafone's website:

"Over 97% of our customers using data bundles don’t make use of their full data allowance. However, 3% of our data bundle customers do."
    http://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/about-this-site/terms-and-conditions/products-and-services/out-of-bundle-browsing-charges/index.htm

Why in bannana's world would you even change the data charges and make it harsh. Can't you just give that 250mb to those 3% of customers which not all may even use that amount from the additional 500mb. Shocking really, or is it false advertisement hmm.

Same here but I sent 3 emails one to normal cs the web relations and the ceo. Got the same reply as you from the normal cs but the ceo team is dealing with it now.
  • Could some one give me some info on where I stand last month I used just under 500mb over my allowence getting one charge whereas when the new charges start id get 2. Now my bill is £36 without the discountsso 10% is £3.60 so a extra £5 charge for the same usage is over 10%. But I got this in a email any help pleas;

I checked the price plan for you and could see that your price will not increase more than 10%. !Please note that the increase in the price plan will take place from 11th!October 2011 onwards.
    !
There is no bill generated to support the fact that you will be charged to 10-20 percent increase in the bill. After the price plan change come into effect the first bill after it will be generated, if the charges are disputing then you can get back to us and we will look into the matter for you. Mention below is the link from where you can view your bill:

If that email is off normal customer service there trying to fob everyone off with it, saying the data charges aren't going to take u over ur 10% threshold, from what ur saying u should be able to cancel I would email CEO office they are the ones dealing with mine and seem to know more about it I'm in the same situation and should receive my reply by phone call by the end of the week. I'll post my reply as soon as I receive it x:)

I also emailed the ceo. I covered all bases its just I had that reply from the normal cs. Anyway I replied to them stating how can they not have a bill when it states they use the previous month and that infact I had gone over my allowence by 500mb so with the new charges I would have got 2 charges for £5 each instead of one. I put it clear as day that its a increase if more than 10%.
Ive also heard from the ceo office dan his name was said he was looking into it and will call me back this week. Im in the same boat as you. Fingers crossed well be able to cancel without penalty. Ill let you know how I get on when I hear anything. Good luck :)

Yeah it must be. The ceo office rang me. Did you cancel your contract through the normal cs? I replied to them anyway and basically said they was lieing and spelt it out for them and broke it down. I did say I wanted the issue sorted asap and if they didnt follow thier own t&c id be seeking legal advice. Do you think thats abit to much?lol

    - Sent the email via http://campaigns.vodafone.co.uk/guylaurence/ on the Sept 21st(Wed).
    - Had initial phone response on the 23rd(Fri); identifying the discrepency, and establishing the bill increase would be recalculated by 26th (Mon).
    - Had a call back on the 26th (Mon) apologising that billing dept. hadn't done it yet & it'll be 27th.
    - Had a call back on the 27th confirming that the changes did effect me and that I had been released from my contractual commitment.

So less than a week from initial email, to issue resolved.

Before that I'd contacted regular CS twice, had got nowhere with them, and had been given inaccurate & conflicting advice.

Does that mean you can terminate your contract right away? Or do you still need to give 30-day notice to Vodafone?
