  • Unless you want to argue with them, they'll use the bill issued before the notification txt was sent.

    i.e.

My notification txt was sent Sept 13th
They used my August bill (issued 25th Aug.)

Thing is I aint had no tx. Only had the contract just short of 3 month

Is it possible that your contract is so new that it started out on the new pricing scheme?

I can not find the info now, but I originally thought I read that this pricing applied to contracts since about June and that it is only contracts older than that need to change.

Edit: Found the reference in "Calls and Texts":
    http://www.vodafone.co.uk/personal/price-plans/pay-monthly/price-changes-10/
"For pay monthly customers who joined before June 2011, once you have used your inclusive monthly allowance of minutes, texts and data, this is what you will pay from 11 October."

I asked plenty times different voda cs and all said its £5 for 500mb. I even rang today and the lady said its £5 for 500mb
  • Had a call back today from Dan; as my (August) bill would have increased by more than 10%, I've been released from the contractual commitment so can cancel without penalty.
    Pack code issued too.
    Result!

Now... where are all those £10 per month HTC/Android phones with unlimited data & £240 cashback =O

How long was it till you found out?

As far as I can work out, it's £5 for 500Mb if you add the bundle before you go over your limit. It's when you go over that 500Mb limit that they are going to charge you the same £5 for every 250Mb you go over, which is doubling the price. It won't affect you if don't use more than 750Mb, but for heavy users it's a massive increase.

    - Sent the email via webrelations@vodafone.com on the Sept 21st(Wed).
    - Had initial phone response on the 23rd(Fri); identifying the discrepency, and establishing the bill increase would be recalculated by 26th (Mon).
    - Had a call back on the 26th (Mon) apologising that billing dept. hadn't done it yet & it'll be 27th.
    - Had a call back on the 27th confirming that the changes did effect me and that I had been released from my contractual commitment.

So less than a week from initial email, to issue resolved.

Before that I'd contacted regular CS twice, had got nowhere with them, and had been given inaccurate & conflicting advice.

I have the 500mb add on but its fre as I was told id get 1gb when I took the tarrif nut only had 500mb so I got the add on free but I still go over my 1gb. Last month I used just shy of 1.5gb so got one charge of £5. New charges ill ne charged £10 when I do the same and more if I go over. Thats at least a 5quid increase and my tarrif is only £36 a month so £3.60 is 10%

    Hi guys,

I have three lines on my vodafone account as well as an iPad line.

Now on one of the lines, my usage is really high. I get 600 minutes a month, and with about 10 days until my bill date, I have less than 100 minutes remaining. I usually go about 100 minutes over my minutes but the last two months I've managed to keep under the allowance due to not being in the country much.

I raised this with a CX representative, who said that if on the next bill, the change in charges would affect me by 10%, I could cancel.

However, he said it has to be 10% of my TOTAL bill for all four lines, whereas I thought it was on the mobile number itself. All four lines come out on one single bill but with subsections for each of the numbers.

I also wanted to know that if they are referring to 10% of the total bill, does that also mean that if I'm 10% over the total (which I probably will be), I can cancel all of the lines on the account or just the line with high usage?

Thanks in advance for all your help,

I've spoken to a friend of mine who works for Vodafone who reads the 10% increase as applying to charges and total bill for that individual number, not for the total bill of all the numbers!

Not sure what to make of it?
