if a judge asked a claimant to detail and describe why the airmiles couldn't be spent, that may not be that easy to demonstrate.

Would you find it easy to demonstrate then?

  • anyway, end of discussion, as far as I am concerned it is fruitless

There are just statements about how much extra the taxes, fees and charges would cost, not detail about why they can't spend them under the current scheme before the December deadline.

If you can't demonstrate why you couldn't spend them, not sure you are going to get very far.

even though I said end of conversation, i will just clarify this final point. If you look deep enough through all the posts, you will see that there are several reasons why they cannot be spent before Dec deadline, one is that many people do not know thier work allocation until after the new year, two, some people have too many to be able to book several trips in one year and can go on

Or they may not have enough to get to the destination they want to go to. I think a number of people have been saving them up over the years to go somewhere long haul as a treat or somewhere that they might not normally be able to afford.

I think that there are a number of people being obtuse about the situation. The top and bottom is, if you're an Air Miles collector (and not a BA Miles collector) this is bad news for nearly all and is forcing people to use their Air Miles in a fire sale.

Sure, there is the odd person who tends to go to one destination that has slipped back a zone, but that person is few and far between.

I think every single statement in this post can also be said the other way round..
As Richard said, I am also sure Airmiles have checked the legality of this.
    But still, good luck!
