for travel to be completed by what sort of date?

By what ever date the orginal terms allowed you. which was basically whenever. That would give somthing for Airmiles to work on as there would only be a finate number of the old miles in the system with none being added to it
  • Anyone know if/how flyers from Belfast can use existing AirMiles to book free flights (out of season) to domestic airports eg to London before the cut-off date? BA no longer fly from Belfast but we're looking at using AirMiles to flying ex London to USA.

    Thx.

So essentially you posted something, but are now confessing that you have no examples to support your claim, and further more were unaware of any examples when you posted.

I'm really just bringing into questions your rationale for court action - it seems to be built on rather shaky ground. A few people have pushed for a little more information, but you've been rather evasive.

What have you achieved so far, and what are your plans?

You obviousley have difficulty in grasping the English langauge.

Someone asking for names of which companies have been defeated in court for terms and conditiona failing under the unfair ahs absolutley got nothing to do with what grounds I will take airmiles to court on.

I have not been evaisive and i even cited a company.

I don't what qualification to have to say it is on shaky ground, however, I can bet that i am far better qualified in that area than you are.

In any case, this has got nothing to do with you

Given you don't give answers to straight question I can only assume you don't have a strategy, and aren't actually taking any legal steps. I'm happy to be proven wrong, so please return and keep us up to date :)

I'm struggling to understand why you haven't detailed your plans.

This gets my vote for irony of the week. Sorry, couldn't resist ;)

Re what places are in which zones, I've finally found this chart at http://www.airmiles.co.uk/avios/details

    which gives some idea:-
Zone1 9,000 Avios+ £27 includes Amsterdam, Paris, Jersey – and now places like Prague and Geneva (formerly Zone 2)

2 - 15,000 Avios +£27 includes Rome, Barcelona, Venice – and now places
    like Dubrovnik (formerly Zone 3)

    3 - 20,000 Avios + £27 includes Athens, Istanbul, Marrakech – and now
places like Moscow (formerly Zone 4)

4 - 25,000 Avios+ airline taxes, fees and surcharges includes Larnaca, Tel Aviv and Cairo

5 - 40,000 Avios + airline taxes, fees and surcharges includes New York, Boston and Dubai

6 - 50,000 Avios + airline taxes, fees and surcharges includes Orlando, Barbados and Cape Town

7 - 60,000 Avios + airline taxes, fees and surcharges includes Bangkok, Hong Kong and Rio de Janeiro

8 - 70,000 Avios + airline taxes, fees and surcharges includes Singapore and Buenos Aires

9 - 100,000 Avios + airline taxes, fees and surcharges includes Sydney

Examples based on British Airways flights

I hope my cutting and pasting works!
  • we purchased 2 flights to the USA in February entirely on airmiles to travel in December 2011 - and got charged £320 tax each - Airmiles were with Star alliance, earned on Air New Zealand - the flights will be on United.... so does this article suggest that Star Alliance were premature in charging us tax?:(

No, as those are different 'miles' in a different loyalty programme. This is only about Airmiles the company.
You were charged taxes just as everyone else is in every other loyalty programme. Airmiles the company are just bringing their programme in line with everyone else.

typos, can happen to anyone. I am bothering not check them on here as I am just rushing, but I was referring the the context as opposed to spelling as that person cannot seem to understand English
  • I am bothering not check them

I give up. Send me to the furthest destination my Air Miles will take me.
