Applied in August 06 & fobbed off until end of December, when with little Christmas Spirit I told them (politely) where to stick it. Excuse after excuse when I was finally able to get through. Were told our order had been "bumped out of system" & not put back in. We were then looking at another 10 -15 days (why should I then go to back of queue?) Were told this on more than one occasion. Too many excuses & like others, they were quick enough to transfer line rental over which mean't I was actually paying more as still paying for Orange Broadband, Previously had calls through talktalk which were very cheap (free international option), but due to problems have cancelled whole lot & transferred line rental back to BT & now searching for alternative Broadband supplier (have also had problems with Orange since we moved house 12 months ago)
  • I have been with talktalk for about 18 months and broadband for almost a year. Although good value the support service is dire. I have a mac and when ever I have problems I am directed to the tech support line which is a premium rate (they never answer my specific questions when I email them). The support is next to useless - I nearly always know more than the spposed experts and that is not saying a lot and I have been immensly frustrated on a number of occasions (it also takes forever to get through to someone)

  • I signed up for Talk Talk Internet as it was free! Despite a delayed connection time-3months, everything was ok.That was September 06. However, for the second time I currently cannot access the internet. The customer service has been diabolical -too many options on helpline- wherever it is;varied information and advice; unable to understand some of the operators; call backs at times not requested- so we were out; no replies to e.mails; no reply to my letter to managing director... I am currently awaiting a new modem- but not holding my breath! What next?
  • I finally managed to get my broadband working after 3 months of calling Talktalk.

In October 2006, Talktalk decided to upgrade my broadband, which really meant turning off my broadband and disconnecting my phone. Upon this I told them and reported the matter instantly to Otelo.

I still have no broadband and had to install another line as I work from home, Talktalk amazing offered me a lot of compensation the day before I reported them to Otelo.

I still have not received the money, even though Talktalk sent me a letter saying they would be paying me:laugh: , so I will call them tomorrow as well as Otelo, send them a recorded letter asking them where the agreed compensation is, then when they do not reply I will put it into Otelos hands:rotfl: :rotfl:. Talktalk do not know what they are doing so my advice is as soon as you have a problem report it to Otelo. Use their unprofessionalism against them. Maybe Mr Dunstone will actually learn about his customer services when Otelo or the governing body get fed up of fining them and take their licence off them. To me that would be perfect as with Talktalk its all talktalk just report them to Otelo, get another phoneline installed which you can get talktalk to pay for, and watch them compensate you.

Do not stop paying your bills report them to Otelo, they do not listen to the normal person!

I am now just waiting for a large amount of compensation off them which they have put in writing!:rotfl:

we have had talktalk for a few months now. we didnt wait too long for set-up, unlike many people, however when it WAS set up the service was terrible, constantly losing connection etc etc. customer services not at all helpful either,
however; a few months down the line, it seems ok. whatever the problems were seem to have been improved. we still get disconnected from time to time, but nothing like what it was.
i'd say to anyone considering talktalk, it's not as good as our previous provider but the price is so good i can put up with things as they are now!
  • I have had no problems as yet with talk talk BB, had it since day one and only lost connection once, but im a low user.
On the other hand I was with tele2 who TT bought they took 2 DD's from my bank ac it took 10mths to get this back I 2 was passed to SA and india, pain in the neck. I finally got trading standards involved and they didnt have much sucess but they did make a impact as someone from high complaints team got involved then after many promises failed to repay me. So I got the small claims court papers printed off and emailed this to them that i was giving them 10 days to refund me. It would have cost them a lot more to attend court in scotland! so I got compensated all most straight away refund of amount due, plus chq in the post and my next bill paid. I dont let any company away with it as far as im concered its stealing, I would get charged with that so why cant they.

I dont even like talking about them as they wind me up thinking about them.
I moved house 2 months ago cancelling my phone line, but stil after 5 phone calls they still havent canncelled it. and then after another god knows how many calls to customer service its still not cancelled, i asked to even pay my bill of what i owe and forget about it. but no they couldnt even do that.
AND what really makes me mad is that:
every time you get transferred (when you think you might be put onto to someone in charge) THEY CUT YOU OFF!!!!!!!
I have given up, and my phone line is carrying on in my old house - WHO CARES - im not paying them a penny after all the calls i have made.

oh and they dont even have a phone number on their site! you can only get it from a bill.

DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!¬!
    Thank you

  • Well today is the first time since August when I have both a working phone and internet. The problems started after the upgrade when i lost the phone for 10 weeks. Yesterday I finally , after several requests, actually recieved the modem and start up pack and everything started working. Unfortunately the modem packed up after 2 hours, but with a new phone extension line and thier filters, cross fingers it is sorted, and have abandoned using thier modem. Which as someone else said, if you allready have a modem is ok. I agree customer service is poor and there is no free call line from the phonebox.

We have had Talktalk since July. Has been OK. Did need to contact Customer Services initially who were rubbish. Had problems with downtime late November. Took forever to get through but eventually found out an outage tel no and now if it goes down I call this first. Most we've been offline for is about 2-3days. This was a real pain but there are other places to access internet so used those instead. Had to ring them just before Christmas and got through instantly! It was someone English as well. They are really rubbish at transferring calls so you need to get all the names of the people you have spoken to. On the whole though you get what you pay for and our phone bill is really cheap. Used the international call for the first time this weekend and this was fine too. Staff in our local Carphone Warehouse have always been very helpful so long as you go in to shop but they never answer phone if you ring them. Must be a CPW thing!

I couldn't get it for free due to the area i live in ,so pay £10 a month. Starting up was terrible. My current supplier was cut off two weeks before talk talk went live without anyone telling me. Despite loads of calls i got no where. So had to do without internet access for 2 weeks until my modem and disc arrived. However they did give me my password etc over the phone! Fat lot of use that was!

Had a few problems with breaks in service - normally i have to call once a month to the expensive technical support line that keeps you on hold for 10 minutes at least before telling you there is a fault! Haven't had to call them for 2 months now tho.
