  • I have just cancelled TT after months trying to get BB. Twice they have taken the order, been given a mac code etc and given me a ETA for my router arriving. And TWICE the orders have been cancelled without me knowing. After waiting three weeks and getting nothing and then a week finding out, that's two months farting around...

The off-shore call centres have different a/c info to those on-shore despite them INSISTING that they don't. Today, for example, the South African call centre told me they couldn't install on my line, and, five mins later, a call centre in the UK told me the order had simply been cancelled - for no reason!! This, some two and half months after I had requested the BB package.

There is no accountability at all, although I did receive a feeble letter last week asking me to bare with them (two months after they said they'd deliver). I lost my temper and cancelled.

MSE doesn't seem to appreciate contention ratios in Broadband supply deals. MSE really MUST NOT recommend a BB/all in one package that cannot deliver. It costs us time and money, Martin, dealing with these incompetent idiots. There are smaller, dearer providers, that are better value. MSE is STILL pushing TT as the cheapest provider when they STILL cannot deliver, as is reflected in your poll. LEAVE WELL ALONE.

I was going to transfer to tt and set the wheels in motion.I received my start date for bb and it came and went no router arrived nothing so i rang the cancellation number and cancelled them. I cancelled the direct debit and went back to BT. This was in February and i am still getting bills from them although they no longer provide me any service. The last bill i got i rang again and told them if i get one more bill, letter or correspondance from them other than to tell me my account is closed then i will be going to court and sueing them for harrassment. I have cried, screamed and shouted, explained clearly but they seem to ignore anything and have to say and continue to bill me. My router then arrived in JUNE.
I have a leter of confirmation form BT that they provide my services so TT have not a leg to stand on.
I would advise IGNORE TALK TALK DON'T TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE.

    Hi,

I understand your concerns which is why i have asked for non sensitive account information, only somone that works for talktalk is able to use this information as if somone was to call talktalk they would still need to clear the data protection questions. The information i request is not considored to be sensitive.

When TalkTalk ask MSE for permission for you, as a customer services representative of TalkTalk, to post as such on MSE then I'm sure all will be fine, until then please stop asking users for any personal information sensitive or not.
  • A good freind of mine signed up for TalkTalk 3 International at the end of Dec 2006, after being given a 1st Feb' 2007 connection date. After many phone calls, recorded letters etc and many more connection dates and verbal and written offers of appology and compensation, nothing happened by 1st August 2007. Another letter was sent to TalkTalk, compaining of poor service and requesting a cancellation of the Talk 3 contract with out penalty. BT were instructed and would have taken over line rental on 21st August 2007 if TalkTalk had not disconnected the line on 20th August 2007, without warning!
This has left my freind with no landline service and BT are now demanding a connection fee of £135 and cannot connect till 31st August 2007.
Talktalk will not budge on this and refuse to reconnect or pay promised compensation.
Can you offer any advise or help with this issue please.
They promise service and just deliver lies and bully boy behaviour!
  • I have been on the Talk Talk Broadband/International 3 package since March 2006 and I have experienced no problems with the service, even though I live at a mid point between two exchanges. I was previously with BT and still use a BT Voyager wireless router. The only set up problem I encountered was determining the correct DNS addresses to use - there are two different sets of DNS addresses in the documentation.

I have not found any restrictions when accessing any web sites.

Perhaps I am fortunate in that I have not yet had to contact the Talk Talk Customer Service department.
  • Well, I've been with TT since February/March for calls and April/May for broadband. I've also taking the path of least resistance, er, I mean contact, and found no problems.

I ordered the Netgear wireless starter pack, never received a starter pack, but got it up and running OK. Mind you, I do my own tech support for the most part, and have a dial-up account with another ISP as a fallback.

Last night I had my first "problem" - the Internet stopped working for a while - even pinging sites didn't work. I rebooted my PC, just in case, but that didn't fix it. So, I unplugged the router from the filter and reconnected it.

Once it was reconnected, I was able to go web browsing again. And not forgetting pinging! Yay! :D
  • Hi

I've been watching the news about TT with interest. We've been an International 3 calling plan customer since May 06 with no problems until very recently when the connection drops frequently. The only thing I can put this down to is they installed TT equipment in the exchange a few weeks ago.

Strangely enough, it is more problematical when my son who is quite savvy is on line.

Rebooting the router often works for me but not my son, ha ha!
We use: Belkin wireless router, Windows XP and IE.

  • My initial Talk Talk experience a good few months ago was a major disapointment. The sales/marketing materials were very slick and set high expectations. However, everything was delayed meaning their timings went out the window. This was acceptable to me as there was huge demand. What irritated me most though was when i needed some set-up assistance and it took me the best part of around 3 days hanging onto a phone.

I am very happy to say i have had no problems at all since then. Needed to call Talk Talk last week. Virtually straight through on two occasions with effiicient and practical help. Highly recommended, a great turnaround!!!
