If your sky is £63 a month, every day you wait is another £2 that you could have saved. Perhaps you should bite the bullet and make the call from your home tonight at a cost of roughly 30p (or less if you have inclusive calls as part of your phone plans) - otherwise tomorrow another £2 will have been lost....

With my trusty evening mug of tea by my side, I am pleased to report both a morning run (of 6.7km) and an evening session of Day 9 of the 30 Day Ab and Squat Challenges.
This was also, without doubt, the sort of day where the old Bloater would have nipped down the local shop and frittered away at least a tenner and possibly twice that on getting treats for the kids, Mrs B and myself as we'd all had a rough day. But we did nothing of the sort. I wish I was tracking my NSDs and AFDs cos they are stacking up rather fast. It's also the 19th consecutive day I've ran. But that is not as exhausting as it is trying to be upbeat all the time.
Tomorrow I shall do battle with Sky and do what I have to with HMRC.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

This is all getting very civilised and predictable. Mug of tea is steaming away next to me. 7km run banked this morning. A good day at work. No popping to the supermarket for after work treats. Day 10 of the Ab and Squat Challenge done.
Tried doing the tax return this afternoon only to be confronted by a system failure, but done it again this evening to be very pleasantly surprised to learn HMRC calculate THEY owe ME £260. That'll go straight into the holiday fund.
Well chuffed.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Mr. Bloater, it looks like you are on a virtuous circle, well done!
I read your thread over the holidays (I actually joined so I could subscribe to your thread) and I think it's the first time that you're not coming up with excuses (although they usually make sense) when you fall off the wagon, it's very motivating to read. It's also great to see that if and when you do, you can snap out of it quicker than before.
Considering the amount of debt you got rid off already, if you keep up this hypra-efficient positive attitude, I am sure you will get debt-free a lot earlier than you thought! :T0 -
Well done. It looks like you're finding a happy medium that suits you and your family.
Good news about the tax rebate. That'll be a nice addition to the holiday fund. As long as you don't have my 'luck'. I got a tax rebate of about £270 one year. Fantastic you say? The very next week a portion of the fence came down and cost £300 to fix. Was not happy! Oh well, easy come, easy go ...0 -
Have parked the wagon up for the night - in a safe place, with the hazards flashing, and have calmly walked away. There's been some negative energy at Bloater Towers over this last week and we all wanted (I was going to write 'needed' but realised that would be incorrect) a little pick-me-up. I got some eminently sensible stuff at the Co-Op plus about a tenner's worth of frivolity - wine, crisps, chocolate. Using a combination of vouchers I managed to get £7 off the total. I also found £3.20 in the drawer of the office desk I have inherited at work - taking the spend down to under £20. It is a price worth paying tonight. Am going to switch around the rest day for the Ab and Squat Challenges which is supposed to be tomorrow, and have it today. Also banked a 6.4km run this morning. Now to see if this soft-landing fall of the wagon allows me to saddle up again tomorrow morning.

Will leaving your hazard lights on not run your battery flat?
Hope not.0
