  • Glad the new job is working out, just goes to show that things have a habit of working out for the best sometimes.

A for the M-i-L I can just imagine you saying that you will run a little every day while she is with you- and so by the end of her stay you will be 50 miles away!! :rotfl:

  • OK well things have not been going according to the script - but that is perhaps no bad thing. So far I have really enjoyed having the mother-in-law over, as someone who never had any grandparents it's wonderful for me to see how well my two are gelling with their grandma.
And until I finally see out this last painful week of work at my old place then I cannot get back up to speed with the running. The spirit is willing but would rather be drank at the moment - as a bigwig Mrs B gets lots of good work -related pressies at this time of year most of which are going straight down the Mr B throat (hey it's saving me buying any so does count as MSE.) Plus I've signed for the dry January thingy that has a catchy name I've totally forgotten.
Just waiting for the work divorce to be finalised on Friday and then life can begin again.

I got a 'work divorce' today - very acrimonious though. Will however in delight in all those work related pressies :) Wish they would do it in the summer too instead of all those flipin mugs and teddies!

  • Well it's all over and done with now. Whilst they screwed up on the total acopalypse, the Dead Mexicans did accurately predict the end of my decade-long association with my (now former) employer. It, as regular readers will know, has been a long painful drawn out death but there is nothing more of it now. And an evening that could have justifiably been spent drowning my sorrows in the Gin, Whisky, Vodka and Irish Cream we currently have in our fridge would have been accepted by all. But I'm here, after a few gins and 1 whisky but now with a steaming mug of tea by my side. I didn't need to get obliterated, didn't need to remove myself from the situation, which I guess means that at the end of the day it was the right thing. I know it's gonna be a good Christmas.

Liquors best stored and served at room temperature Mr B, although it's a matter of personal preference, when it comes down to it. :p

Sacrilege to store whisky in the fridge, particularly if it's a malt. :D

Me? I take my whisky neat

Not everyones cup of tea, sorry whisky.....................

Good luck in your new job and all the best for 2013
