Tried to go OS and it's just backfired. Am off in a bit to visit my new boss and workplace and nerves have kicked in. Usually a McMuffin would cure such nerves (at this time of the morning), but, in an effort to take my MSE vows seriously I thought I could replicate the taste at home with frozen muffins, turkey ham and cheese. Suffice to say there is a reason why I don't use the kitchen much and there are pieces of eggshell everywhere, a whole pack of rancid meat angrily thrown in the bin and a nagging doubt in my mind that I'll be able to clear up the mess before I'm due to leave which will mean Mrs B comes back to a scene from some low-budget culinary horror film. Sometimes, the drive-thru is the best option.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

When I fancy a Mc style breakfast.
I have a toasted bagel with a herb omelette(we have a small 2 egg omelette pan) and ham, bacon or whatever we have
filling and tasty.0 -
I was an hour late for work one day last week because a jar of coffee accidentally fell out of a cupboard into a bowl of just cooked porridge. The bowl broke and the porridge splattered to the four corners of the kitchen, with enough left over to pebble dash me. It took me nearly an hour to clean it up... then make and eat another bowl. Sigh. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

the other MS option at times like these would be just to have the mcdons egg mcmuffin without the cheese - cheaper, healthier (the cheese alone is 5g fat), just add the free ketchup.
take a bottle of tap water/juice from home to accompany it in the car or get a free hot drink with one of the vouchers.
i'm really bad at mcdons and study the menu prices to work out the cheapest combinations of food options - it does make a difference. if OH just wants a burger eg. bigmac and i want a fillet fish we buy the cheapest burger separate and get the other as a meal and share chips + drink:rotfl:
every little helps;)0 -
and guess where i went at 9.30am this morning????
off to mcdons to fetch a (cheeseless) egg mcmuff and a b/fast wrap for the OH:rotfl:your fault;)0 -
A fortnight without me posting - not a good sign. Have been hovering on the periphery - keeping up with a few other diaries and so realise that this is the real downtime - inevitable Christmas spending coupled with not seeing daylight in the working week doesn't really make for inspiring MSEness. But, to catch up on missing stuff - visit to new employer was very good but there was an attempted torpedo by current employer which backfired. Has led to a newfound blandness at work - I think they have thrown everything at me and I have danced over so many landmines now that it's just a stalemate - three weeks of being ignored is what I am hoping I have left. The last week would lead me to believe that will be the case.
Shamefully running has totally stopped not least because of the unwelcome return of knee pain - have been medicating myself bigtime this last week and symptoms are abating so will try a trundle on Saturday. If it all goes south then I will be dusting off the Wii Fit and going hardcore on that. Finances are manageable for now - come the new year and resultant pay cut then I will be looking to augment the income with any little extras but to be perfectly honest looking back over the last few months I'm lucky enough to be walking away with family/marriage/sanity/career intact.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Im back.
As I have said before. Running is fine but it puts a lot of strain on the legs joints(exponentially the heavier you are)Every extra pound you carry adds up to 3 pounds of pressure on your knee joints when you walk, and 10 pounds when you run
So 10 times your weight as an impact on one leg while you run.
Its a sobering figure when you think about it.
So as before, the runs great. however work & life make it harder to fit in
then you have physical constraints
IMO swimming, cycling etc would be far better fo you with regard to longevity
far better to create a consistent program of exercise than peaks and troughs.
as before, there are a gazzilion bodyweight exercises you can do at hoe with limited space, equipment and time.
This can also tie on with mobility. No doubt like most of us you will have stiff movements and limited movements in parts of your body. we all get it through injuries and the limitations of movement in modern life0
