  • Maybe it's the weather but I think (at risk of sounding like a teenager) that 'Meh' kinda sums up things at the moment. Things are trundling along, can't be bothered to sort out the debt totals, can't seem to get out running and can't appear to be too troubled by either thing.

Did venture to the back of the shed today - but not for any yoghurt-knitting*, just to get a toy for the kids to argue over.

I'm consoling myself with the thought that once MIL arrives I shall be busy listing items and doing anything to keep out of the way.

Meh here too. When keeping out of way of MIL don't touch the electrics. Once DH decided thermostat needed repairing while my mum visited and nearly blew himself up. She thought it was great, did one of her 'I told you not to marry him' speeches and it was months before it was repaired.

  • World of Bloater needs a serious reboot as it's all stretching out into complacency again. Can't quite believe that I haven't even got the motivation together to check out the main debt figure for this month - I know it's considerably down and you'd think that would inspire me. Not a bit of it. Had another run-in with the powers-that-be over reports that had reached them about various facebook postings and conversations I had been having. Apparently they could be construed as having a negative image on my organisation. Wow. Really?
Anyways, still stumbling on - this weekend offers the oppurtunity for some redemption as some running and spreadsheeting should get me back on track. Anyone know if it's going to be a free one on eBay? Here's hoping - as I did obtain a particularly nice bit of cardboard this afternoon.....

How could they see your facebook page? I only allow friends access to mine. It is private other than that. I certainly wouldn't have let work personnel on to my facebook page. I consider what I post there private......
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

I'm with Custardy on that one......facebook is a minefield especially in our line of work. We are 'robustly encouraged' to think twice about facebook and if we do use it then it has to be very secure - I rarely use it and dont post pictures :) OH also works in a state dept and facebook issues have finished off the employment of quite a few people. However I did the the style of the headteacher who drew up his short list of NQT using facebook and those who did make it to interview where take to task about some entries on their facebook pages - I guess young straight from college you dont think things are going to jump up and bite you

  • FB is a double-edged sword and I'm an old pro at stuff like this... I have a personal account with a tiny handful of trusteds and then a public one where I'm friends with oodles of people. Without the oodles one, I wouldn't have got headhunted and got a partial lift out of the hole that had been dug for me. And cos my statuses are quite elliptical, the powers-that-be couldn't pin anything definite on me. Once new job up and cheerful then public FB will be deactivated.

Have just spent the best part of an hour reading a whole thread on here and it really motivated me again. I have to take my plight seriously if it's ever going to get resolved. So by the end of the weekend I need to have a few more K on my sig for the running, and few less K for the debt totals. And step back on the scales. Trouble is, my head is finding it very comfy in the sand at the moment.

There is no doubt FB when used sensibly can be an advantage.........

Here is to your new 'KK' challenge:beer:......come on.... that sand must now be getting into parts that will irritate, or at least chafe - funny word 'chafe' :rotfl:
