Am kinda going off the freelance / selfemployed idea - just don't think I'm the type for it - regular income and paid holidays seem too much of a good thing to give up for the uncertainty.

All sound good Mr B :) I know exactly what you mean re ^^^^^ Oh to be my own boss..................but deep down I took like the paid hols, the regular income and the pension - well maybe that last bit might no be too attractive in the long run :( For me the happy medium would be PT proper work and some other income from an interest/hobby but I am just too set in my ways (and too much in debt to take the plunge);)

No reason why you can't also be freelance as well as PAYE. My nieghbour is employed PAYE in 1 job and works freelance teaching German and swimming in her spare time.

Well chuffed. Sold 30 items on eBay this evening and have at least £200 coming my way. Plus the shed is full to bursting with bayable items - have stopped looking at it as a source of stress and instead now view it as a tree full of plump apples waiting to be picked. Time for an early night methinks - one of the little Bloaters decided this morning would be a good time to have an hour's less sleep than usual - this combined with the time switch means I've been up since 4. And that's even early for me.

Yay to the £200 and more potential money earners in the shed!

    Great news Mr B :T.

Grrr. Remembered now why I haven't used ebay in a while. Blooming packaging. And of course my collection of cardboard and tape has moved itself to the furthest inpenetrable reaches of the shed. Thought by getting up early I could get it out of the way, but in the damp windy dark early morning even though I was bundled up in my wino's housecoat (Mrs B's term of endearment for my dressing gown) I couldn't stop myself from freezing whilst attempting to clamber over some of the hoard to get to the packaging. And things were snapping - hopefully they weren't ligaments or sellable items but the likelihood is they were one or the other. Hobbled back inside and then found halfway through that my shaver has decided to end it all. So I now have half a beard, a wonky leg and a morning doing battle with the shed. It's going to be a long day.
