yay.gif on the lard loss :j
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
  • Yea! Mr B is back, all is well with the world! :j

I had 'tidied' my subscribed list and deleted this one, I'm so so sorry for being an unbeliever, I thought you had gone forever.... :(

Still only 5 pages to read and wow! £25K gone in one year! :T Well done you.

Welcome back Mr B, glad you couldnt keep away! Debit and weight are similar, in that you didn't get them overnight, and they don't go away overnight. Positive action on both fronts equals steady progress. Well done :-)
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Finding a whole new world of sacrifice thanks to the hotel we are in - unlimited cooked breakfasts and yet I've made do with scrambled egg and a crummy tomato whilst everyone else be chowing down on the porcine delights. Kept the moneysaving up, packed lunches on the journey rather than service station plastic sandwiches. Right, free wifi about to expire

    Well done MrB.
I was in a similar position back in June 2010; I didn't have the debts but was a recently discharged bankrupt at that time. I weighed just over 24st. and put myself on a strict diet. I managed to get down to 19st 8lb by January of 2011. but now unfortunately, I can't do much in the way of exercise due to disability and I've stuck at that weight. Still I look at it as, I'm not overweight, I'm just not tall enough!

Hiya - I am so inspired by your journey, thank you for posting!

I was watching that hairy bikers food thing and came up with an idea. I take a photo of everything I'm going to put in my mouth. OMG! what an eye opener. the camera put a date and time stamp on each thing and I have discovered that I:

drink loads of cocacola and dr pepper instead of eating.
I 'forget' to eat breakfast - even though I'm getting some for the kids
my lunch is not very healthy
I eat a HUGE tea with the kidz and HWTHMBO
    then I snack
    and snack some more

hopefully when I get back into the land of employment the routine will make me eat better, but I am trying not to snack now.

but the ELMM is working for me and I agree about the tape measure not the scales (oh, and our Wii fit lies :rotfl:, but there is a downhill setting on the bike ride).

I also discovered that you can do some step thing on the wii without having the wii screen on and can watch something else. Alternatively, I put my fave programme (garden programmes usually) on for 30 mins and get on the cross trainer. time soon flies!

Keep it up YOU CAN DO IT!

Successfully back from a long weekend in the company of the Cheshire plutocracy - and am smiling pretty much like one of their cats - cos whilst weight loss will be debateable - 'free' cooked breakfasts were sidestepped brilliantly however the free (without quotes) bar at the christening yesterday wasn't quite as elegantly hurdled, we Bloaters had about as a low spend time as you can under the circumstances - picnics went down better than posh restaurants ever do. Took some particularly graphic pictures of some mould and other unmentionables from our 'posh' hotel last night (the other nights we were in the company of the chain advertised by Mr L Henry) and will be emailing them to the manager to see if he wants to give us a substantial discount the next time we visit up north. PPI claim appears to be trundling along, got a letter acknowledging it today, and all in all, things are looking pretty good. Have no excuse for some serious exercise tomorrow especially now I've put it on here. The best thing about the time away was that I was able to keep considering the two things that are bugging me - I was utterly mindful of the calories and the money - without letting it impede on what we did. Although I seriously lusted after the sausages.

After pondering it for forever, have finally got around to putting in a claim with my bank for PPI on a loan back from '05. Will be trawling through Mrs B's old loans later to see if we can do anything with them. Any idea what sort of figures people are getting back from PPI on a £5000 loan?

Delurking to say I got £4200 but can't remember how big the loan was, however it can't have been much more than yours... it's the PPI payment plus 8% interest up until you claim. I just figured that £500 back would make me happy, and I was gobsmacked when I saw the figure they offered.

Moment of truth time is upon me - the scales of justice are about to be trod on... I departed the sunny South on Friday at a lardtastic 145.7kg and am now
    (trundles off to do weigh-in)
    147.3kg. Gulp.
And, as if right on cue, little boy Bloater is a-crying. Back later.

well done mr bloater on resisting those big fry ups my hubby works for a hotel chain and we get freebie stays sometimes and imafraid i can never say no to them.

I too have been watching the Hairy Bikers-made their low fat Chicken Korma last night which was lush (although might have been better if oh wasn't so stingy and let me buy the £3.50 pot of saffron)
