Blimey - it's exactly a year since I started this thread. Too soggy to go for a celebratory run I shall have to make do with a cup of tea instead. Have learnt a helluva lot from this messageboard and thankfully the debts and the weight are both heading in the right direction - nowhere near as fast enough as I would like - but then I need to get more consistency - keeping up this diary is one solidgold way of ensuring that I keep my mind focused.
Free listing weekend on eBay cannot be ignored this time - shed space is obviously at a premium after the controversial events of yesterday so getting shot of the car seat / baby gate / etc that's in there will help matters along. And I'll have another go at selling the Adam Ant sunvisor.
Thanks to everyone who's read or contributed to this first year - and here's to the next one.
Maybe it isn't too soggy for that run.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

So I did the run - am still no fan of hitting the road in daylight hours - not only cos I got the moves like Jabba, but also cos a lot less interesting stuff seems to happen. Witnessed a minor confrontation between a BMW and a Skoda - didn't bother hanging around to see the finale, as anyone with an ounce of knowledge about fighting knows - anger beats arrogance 99% of the time, and I don't buy for a minute all these surveys saying Skoda drivers are the happiest - if I was one I would be driving around in a sense of continual rage. Also stumbling (quite literally) into my path was a man with what I assume was an invisible dog - which is certainly the best kind of dog in my opinion. The 16 minute trundle burned off a glass of wine, which is a wonderful way of combining my two hobbies. Mrs B wants to have a 'chat' now which likely means she has more ideas for decluttering the house (cluttering the shed).2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Well done on the early run. I was feeling really smug about a 4 mile walk with the dogs this morning but you put me to shame! If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

These are the good times. And in the bad times when the bills come in and the weight won't shift I'll have to remember them, cos human nature dictates that the crest of a wave doesn't last forever. But heck it's a pretty darn good wave at the moment, the lard is literally melting away - I have found a system that works for me - I'm a numbers person and so plugging in my meals and finding out how many calories I have / have left works supremely well, and seeing in pure statistics how much 'extra' I have earned by doing the exercise is a real motivator. For me.
Today's run was at 5.30 so far more into my comfort zone - the side effect of this being that I couldn't go rummaging around for suitable attire for fear of waking the rest of the Bloaters who were having a lie-in. This meant instead of my usual t-shirt I had to wear a giant fleece. I don't often call things giant - at 6ft 4 and 22.7 stone I do have a keen sense of scale, but this fleece is B-I-G - it resembles a dogeared quilt being worn as a poncho. Was hoping for a bit more action seeing as it was still the witching hour, but aside from the man with the twins in the posh house on the corner being outside washing his other twins (two matching VW Polos - they must have had a bad night), the !!!!!! bungalow having 2 skips outside both appropriately containing hardcore (of the rubble variety), and a swift diversion outside the Co-Op as I noted the horrified look of the manager struggling with the security shutters and then turning round to see what I assume she thought was an escaped extra from a low-budget spaghetti western flailing his poncho clad arms around as he neared the finish line (the diversion took me an extra 1/2 a kilometre but spared her any further distress), the run was pretty uneventful. Until I got home. Due to the decluttering of the house (which yielded 3 bin liners full of stuff for the bin, 1 giant bag full of car booty and an enormous Minnie Mouse - which even gives me the creeps - for eBaying) we now not only have a cluttered shed, but a full to bursting porch. Because you can now only squeeze through said porch I had to take some of my stuff off outside - I wasn't going for the Full Monty or anything, however I guess our new neighbours across the road weren't to know that.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)
