Am I stating the obvious here about checking what is being bought into the house?

Ie if there aren't the high fat, high sugar things in the house, then they can't tempt you.

And yes it may mean that everyone eats healthier for a while, ie no shop bought bickies for example, but that may not necesarily be a bad idea. And of course there is the calories in the drink you drink too, ie not just wine, but pop etc.

You helped me lose a few pounds, and I too have relapsed back. I know that if I buy chocolate I will eat it so as of this week I am not going to buy it :eek::eek::eek:.

good luck with your ongoing journey

Well today's been eventful - managed to get my visiting Dad a much better deal on his car insurance, had a worried hotel manager calling me a couple of times (haven't got back to him - thought I'd let him stew for a bit), couldn't help Mrs B extricate herself from a particularly unfruity phone contract and likely was the only person who shopped in both the high street poundstore and the John Lewis foodhall today. All essentials - and certainly nothing that would bloat this Bloater any further. Had a good dumbell session in the shed as well. Am finding all this relentless upbeatness a bit knackering - might have to lie down for a while.

Sun is shining, three more packets of lard down, shed still tidy - what's not to love? Going to have another look at the electricity/gas suppliers today to check we're still on the best tariffs and am planning on doing some more competitions. Or I might just enjoy the sunshine before work starts again.

First Bloater posting from the shed. Not quite enough room yet to fit a chair in, and I have got a grumpy son banging on the door so it's not quite the haven I would like it to be - but considering it was roof to floor solid with junk not that long ago the fact that I can dance a merry jig and use my laptop in here is substantial progress.

Hotel manager offered us a complimentary upgrade which falls short of what I would have liked, but was so polite and genuine that I've left it at that - squeezing people dry isn't really my idea of fun.

Mrs B has entirely unpromptedly started researching sold prices for various Boden items she no longer wants and so it could be a very flowery eBay list the next time one of their free weekends comes around.

Back to work tomorrow and perhaps because of that I have already hit my calorie allowance for the day. Ho hum.

Well done on the weight loss and keeping the shed tidy. We have had problems keeping our house tidy but have lately been doing much better. I find it so hard to let go of stuff. Husband got there first selling his collection back to the 60s of Private Eye!

    Morning.

Money: Somewhat surprised to learn that being on seperate suppliers on standard tarriffs appears to be better for us financially than any of these combined online fixed price thingys - this was despite forensic inputting of baffling kw/ph figures from the bills. Also got very excited by the £12 Travelodge offer and made plans for the Bloaters to go visiting on the cheap in February - but when the car parking charges were factored in then the bargains weren't there for us.

Weight: Despite (or perhaps because of) a top-heavy day yesterday whereby I was stuffed to the gills by lunchtime and then didn't have anything much else, I am now back at my pre-long weekend up North weight - the under 23 stone 145.7kg - which is very nice indeed.

Clutter: Late yesterday afternoon I pounced upon two innocent looking plastic tubs quietly stacked at the back of the shed and managed to bin the contents of one and sort out the other. And found 4p. Every little helps.

The tracksuit, t-shirt, and trainers are in the porch. The mp3 player has been updated with some new tunes. Mrs B has been warned that I may not be available from 5.00 - 5.30 tomorrow morning. And I'm about to hit the sack before 10pm. Everything is set for the Bloater to reclaim the mean streets of SE London. Fingers crossed.
