Catching my breath for (just) long enough from laughing at OS fox-soup scavengers to say: well done indeed Mr B, and may your shadow continue to decrease as your reknown expands. :j :T :j :T :j :T

Weight (in old money) is down to 22st 4 which by my reckoning having looked at the various exercise spreadsheets I've made over the years, is my lowest weight since December 2008.

Gave into temptation yesterday evening and managed to enjoy (and I sure did enjoy it) a whole bottle of Carmenere yesterday evening whilst smugly watching 'Hoarders'. Smug because yet another round of Shed Tetris has reclaimed standing room and enough space to do a modified version of my dumbell routine. Also gorged on 2 packets of Snackajacks and a tin of mackerel last night - which isn't much of a gorge I know. More Babybel than Cheddar. As a result weight today is up a couple of packets of lard despite me heriocally just returning from a 4.2k trundle in the rain. In money news, we have finally grown to love our Nectar card and promise to use it in future as it took twenty quid off the shopping, we're also going to go through all Mrs B's paperwork to see if there was any PPI on any of her loans from way back (still no news on my claim but I guess no news is better than bad news) and come payday tomorrow I want to be able to update the first line of my signature.

Go Mr B! I have started reading or updates in the morning when I'm drinking my protein shake for breakfast. As I fight the urge for peanut butter and chocolate spread on Toast every morning I think of our valiant and inspiring efforts to beat the bulge. Wool wool keep up the good work

  • I've been enjoying this forum for some time and thought it was about time I stopped 'lurking' and started contributing.

Like Mr B, my main focus in life at the moment is to pay off debt and lose weight. I have been on my 'latest' diet for 3 weeks and have so far come down from 138kg to 134ish. I'm cutting back big time and doing a weigh in every Friday morning but most of the time I'm STARVING!

Boy is weight loss hard when you're nudging 50 - gone are the days when I could 'be good' for a few days and happily lose half a stone

Oh and the reason I way in Kgs is cos I know the 'meaning' of stones and can't face the truth!

On the debt front I seem to be going backwards - last time we re-fixed our mortgage we added our credit card debt and vowed never to use our cards beyond a small limit again but I'm up to £5K and added £500 last week alone getting a new tyre for the car and getting it serviced, MOT's and Road Taxed.

I feel I have no chance to get things under control with Christmas looming on the horizon (and I do so LOVE Christmas).

Ho hum - perhaps recording my thoughts on here will help me get on the straight and narrow.

Good luck to everyone else with their own demons and struggles....

Another morning, another 4.5k in the bag. Today is payday so hopefully there will be some movement on the debt figures tonight. Today I intend having a textbook MSE day - NSD, AF and any other acroynm I can throw in along with 5 fruit and veg, plenty of water and blah blah blah - I'm boring myself already.
  • Have never been a great believer in text books and now have even less faith in them. Yesterday I consumed 6.2 portions of fruit and veg, had no alcohol, stuck way within my calorie limit, enthusiastically planned a 7k route for this morning, seriously pondered signing up for a proper organised 10k run in January, and was tucked up asleep by 9.30pm. So imagine my surprise when upon waking to a bright(ish) morning at 6.15 my mind had decided the last thing it wanted to do was an effing run. Eventually with much reluctance I did get out there and done a halfhearted 3.8k but with it being Saturday morning there was too much pedestrian traffic on the pavements for my liking - and dressed in my dark running attire whilst I like to think I resemble a slightly chubby version of the original Man In Black Johnny Cash, the likelihood is that people will think I'm a lonely Milk Tray Man sadly sitting at home eating box after box of them because I have nobody to give them to. Debt figure will have to wait until the organisations have taken their payments off but I think it will show a downward trend. Fingers crossed everyone has a good day today - don't let the wall get in your way.

I sympathise Mr B. I've been sticking rigidly to a low-carb low-cal diet, foregone my wine, and increased my exercise by 300% and what have I lost this week? Nada, zilch, zero. How does that work? If I had eaten, drank, not exercised I'd have put 2lb on this week.

Still, on the positive side, I have dropped 3 clothes sizes since March, and need a belt to keep my smaller jeans up :-)
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

So impressive :T:T:T Must feel great :) (I've lost nothing this week either but 8 Llbs in total - I must try harder!)
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
