301k in debt and morbidly obese - things aren't great!

It's 6am and there are aches and pains around the world of Mr Bloater today. But not cos of the bottle and a bit of finest wine last night, oh no, I was up before the lark this morning and pounded 4.4k of my manor's mean streets. But the most exciting thing about this morning wasn't being nearly flattened by a large and confused raver with a dayglo stick, nor the appearance of a second tv (also showing the same stuff as the first one) in the !!!!!! bungalow, but the fact that 139.5 kg equates in old money to 21st 13. To have a 21 in my weight is a very big deal and it's certainly been a considerable time since I could say that.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Well done Mr B :T. Any sight of your stalker or has she taken to disguising herself as a tree .A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Finally sorted out the finances - total debt down another few hundred quid which is no bad thing. Also got around to solving the mystery of the multiplicity of Nectar cards we have and found one with twenty quid on it - combined with the tenner off voucher we have from a previous shop and we're off to do our own version of Extreme Couponing. Except we're not going to buy hundreds of boxes of washing powder or dried pasta. We're going to get Gin.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Hi Mr B
I haven't been around for a while and I have just caught up on about 6 months of posts. You really are an inspiration to everyone!
I have had a funny old year so far. Culminating in being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and spinal stenosis at the ripe old age of 50. But things could be worse I am mobile-ish and alive and I have my lovely family around me and I still have my job (thankfully!)
Anyway, I fell off the wagon and my snowball melted. But we have some light at the end of the tunnel - we are £6k less in debt than we were this time last year and we are expecting a windfall of about £36k in the next few months which will finish the rest off and leave us a bit of change to allow us to think about a down payment on our dream holiday home. Gotta rebuild my credit rating for that to happen of course so could be a couple of years away....
On the wieght front, menopause has kicked in and I have amuffin top that Mr Blobby would be proud of. But I have started again and lost 10lbs. I need to stick at it for health reasons this time and not just vanity as rheumatologist tells me my weight will make my back worse. The pain being as it is, I have a very real reason to shed a few stone!!
Anyway that's my update. Love reading your posts and will now be contributing again. Snowball is reinstated, and I am back on track.
Have a good weekend everyone xx0 -
The light at the end of the tunnel in my life is usually some b***ard with a torch bringing me more work. But strangely, and unusually, this is genuine light. Light like a bright new morning. And for that reason, when the time comes and I have the money in my hot little hands, I should give thanks and celebrate. So I will. I will also learn a lesson about credit cards and interest free periods and the temptation that they breed....
Until then, the bloke with the torch still lurks in the distance, wearing a knowing smile.0 -

Mrs B makes a mean gin and she was mean all evening. Which makes me even more suitable for sainthood that I've just come back from a full 5k trundle - first time I've managed (or even attempted) that distance in a long long time. Am just as euphoric about that as I was the gin last night. Right, have been told by the good lady wife I am stinking the house out (likely cos I still insist on wearning my fleece/poncho that is now taking on the consistency of a giant black reusable nappy). Still, it keeps the dogs out of my way. And all the 'proper' runners in their vests and shorts and hi-vi's and bottles of water.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)
