What does your DH think about your ttc?

*Serious and very honest stuff, and low PMA alert*

He wants a baby, and keeps on talking about being tested to see if anything is wrong - I've explained loads of times that they won't consider testing until at least a year, and we've been trying for 8 months now. I'm also scared of having tests done in case they do find something is wrong with either of us, especially if they told me that I could never have children. :o

We discussed the fact that I don't enjoy sex very much (I have an extremely low sex drive), and that it has become very clinical, as he tends to just prop me up with a pillow and the tv remote and then goes off downstairs to watch tv etc. He also said that one of the reasons he finds it hard to perform is because I don't orgasm and he feels like he's letting me down. Trouble is, we live next-door to the MIL, and I can hear her tv through our bedroom wall (we are semi-detached), so I feel a bit inhibited too, so maybe we need to go away for a conception weekend or even just a night in a hotel. I said if I could get pregnant just by taking a tablet, it would be a lot easier. ;)

We also talked about possibly not using the monitors etc for a month or two, and just DTD when we feel like it, but I told him that it wouldn't happen in that case due to my virtually zero sex drive. I just feel really guilty and like there's something wrong with me cos this can't be normal. :(

Sorry to be on a downer, and for moaning. I know in the grand scheme of things, that I'm really lucky to have what I do have. Moon is very understanding considering.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    Hello,

Just popping in to say congratulations to whowantstobrich and again to dovetail :j

((hugs)) Tink I hope they get it sorted soon.

((hugs)) also sexymouse. You and moon will get there in the end. I know it's scary thinking about tests and worrying that they might find something but if they do it's better that you know so that you can move forward with any necessary treatment/help to get you guys that much wanted baby.

With the MIL situation is they any cheap way you could get that one wall sound proofed? I have no idea if that's possible but it might be and might help you. Do you have a spare room you could use maybe? Or even something like putting music on in your room?

I know it must be difficult with a low sex drive (mine can be very up and down) have you tried spending more time on the stuff before hand rather than just going straight into DTD? It might help you get in the mood more. Try to make it about expressing your love and don't worry if you don't orgasam because the more you worry the more it won't happen. Just enjoy the closeness with your husband. Tell me to shut up if I'm talking nonsense or out of turn, just trying to help and thinking of things that help me.:o

Hope the rest of you are well. Mr Emsbet has just cracked open the free bubbly :)

    xx

Thanks emsbet - they all sound like good ideas. I've talked to Moon about getting massage oils and being intimate in that way as well as DTD (not necessarily at the same time as I know massage oils can stop sperm), and luckily we live near a travelodge, so we may consider going to one of those as I've just spotted the £10 sale thing.

It's normal. At least Moon has good sex drive, you can always pretend you are enjoying it:p

I don't have sex drive either, and I don't think DH has much, but we don't talk about that, and we pretend:o

:o snap! I know exactly how you feel, my gp has been great and referred us after 6 months of trying cos we are oldies! I am terrified that the results aren't good, I'm worried about how we would both feel individually and the impact it could have on our relationship after some fairly intense ttc'ing. But.....that might never happen, and there are so many really positive stories out there, look at whowants2brich and the lady a few days ago who had been trying for 9 years if I remember correctly. The thought of tests is scary, mrhappy has SA in November, and we are both quite anxious about it, however the vast majority of couples get their BFP at some point.

Keep thinking PMA PMA PMA :) We will all get there :)

Congrats to whowants2brich and dovetail (Oh, and 2brich - I understood your name from the getgo, but that's because I've got a strange name!!)

AFM, and Im sorry to be so :( .... I'm afraid I'm another one severely lacking in any PMA today. Had a lovely impromptu date morning with DW, but still feeling ill (and finally gave into proper meds this morning - well sudafed, that made me go a bit 'weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!' ).

I just keep staring at my chart, willing the temps up!
    Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j
