Emsbet, Im sorry your employers aren't being more undstanding. a$$holes. I hope the doctor signs you off, they will - I know it. Do not settle, if you don't feel ready to go back to work, DON'T.

Thanks. :o I'm not sure what I will do if my doctor says no to signing me off but from what you all have said he should sign me off for this week.

Oh your post has made me so angry emsbet! I can't believe that some people can be so insensitive towards you. As others have said, I'm sure that the doctor would sign you off, and I'm wondering if there is someone you can put a complaint into further down the line when you're feeling more up to it. I would be fuming too! Sending you a big hug, and hope you get a good night's sleep tonight. I hope that talking to us is helping a bit. Have you considered writing a journal? It may help to write all of your thoughts and worries down before you go to bed so that they aren't in your head. I know it isn't for everyone, but it's just a thought.

I'm not sure there is anyone I can complain to and TBH if the doctor signs me off I don't give a sh*t what they think at work.
Talking to you lovely ladies really does help me. That's why I came back to this thread as soon as we found out. The support I've received on here the last six months has been invaluable.

A journal is a nice idea but it's not for me. I've tried before and wish I could but I find that my mind goes too quickly for my hand to get everything out and I end up getting frustrated with myself. :o

I've been assured that the insomnia will pass and it's just part if the grieving process.

    xx

Sorry Emsbet, I just read your message about employer. I think that if you have a m/c then you are entitled to so many time off work. Contact personnel or get some to enquire about it. They cannot just tell you that you will take annual leave. I think the leave at my work is two weeks off for a m/c.

In the maternity policy there is a section about miscarriage and compassionate leave but I didn't read it properly because I didn't want to jinx myself :o and of course I bloody went and left it in my drawer at work!

Omg conrats BB!!!! I'm so pleased for you. And after being cycle buddies a few times we're due on the same day too :D

RebekahR my cycle was daft after coming off the implant, 10 day luteal (so no spotting but very short) OV varied by up to a week, but it settled down by my 4th cycle (I took EPO which seemed to help a lot). Unfortunately sometimes the only thing you can do is give it time to balance itself out. I was told this week that docs make you wait a year for testing as they expect it to take up to 6 months for your body to regulate your hormones again, so its really only 6 months trying.

If they wait that long for hormones then i'm well over due LOL. I've had about 23 cycles in 15 months since pill. Only reason I was concerned was due to the length of the spotting rather than the fact I a day or 2 before. Up to 6 days I thought was ages. But hey ho! Now to try every vitamin going LOL. I shall up my dose of EPO from 1 "pill" to 2. Those links aer very handy - some I had come across already LOL. I do have a google addiction ... and a tendency to worry about everything. Wonder if my temp will still be up in the morning. Temp should start dropping off now the spotting is here. My right breast is stinging like hell. Better get some cereal down me before bed or i'll be up in the dead of night again! Biggest appetite around at mo I have. Lots of love and hugs to all. Don't worry about me. I'm alrighty :-D

Rebekah I just did a google search and came across this thread which you might find interesting - lots of ladies with the same spotting issue - and some of have got baby pics up now including the one who said she was convinced that was why she wasnt getting pregnant :)

and more pregnant ladies on this one!

Maybe your doctor could possibly be getting himself confused and thinking of cervical erosion - which the pill can cause, but once you come off the pill it tends to go back to normal. Wouldnt suprise me!

and this website says its completely normal ( I have read on other websites same as you that there are reasons why it could be happening and to see your gp so there is no harm in a 2nd opinion of course)

    So stop stressing out! :)

can't reply to everyone, but emsbet: you are NOT out of order. THEY have a duty of care to YOU, not the other way round. The doctor should have no trouble whatsoever signing you off, especially with the other pg ladies at work. Don't worry about future employers and sick leave, there's very little they're allowed to say these days on references! I was off sick for months and months from one job and still got the next job even though I was still off sick technically. :o As for bereavement I think they only tend to need to offer something like 3 days and other than that it's discretionary, and also doesn't tend to be paid time off. Is unpaid leave something you would/could consider, if needs be?
Sorry you're so angry and upset. It's usually when you're at your lowest ebb that things like this that you have to deal with strike. You have my sympathies :(

    to everyone else :)
