Trying for a Baby Part 7

I'd love to be a full time mum, but I don't think that is possible.
I'll think about childcare if I end up having a baby, no use counting the chickens before it hatches:o

There are so many possibilities and combinations when the time comes, and most of us find something which works. Even if you think you couldn't possibly afford to give up work for a while when baby is young, often when you do the calculations, you find that you are better off doing so, or only working a few hours a week. There are so many hidden expenses to working, leaving aside childcare, that only become obvious after a stint away!
The family I know who seem to have the best combo, both husband and wife decided to go part time, to 3 days a week. Their child was in childcare only one day, and they both got to spend decent quality time with him every week, and do all the fun stuff together, without wrecking their long term careers. The kid is at school now and they have both had promotions and are back working more regular hours.0 -
I was thinking about you at 4am ...what do you do for work? Is it flexible to let you go to Singapore? Or can you work there? What about hubby what does hedo? And will he ever come back to UK?
Sorry for being nosey!
I don't want divulge much about me online, but my job is a bit family business related, so not much chance of being let off:o
Also, I can do a lot of my work wherever I happen to be.
But can't do everything, so have to come back here from time to time, like now:(
DH is an engineer, and works for a proper company:p
He can't get much time off, and has to work at the office.
He's in Singapore for the time being, but he could get transferred to another country or come back depending on the company's whim:oThere are so many hidden expenses to working, leaving aside childcare, that only become obvious after a stint away!
I don't particularly like the idea of leaving a baby less than one year old for a week or two to my parents while I work away. Will that work? Or should I take the baby and my mum with me while on extended business trips if breast feeding?0 -
Evening everyone, hope the sun has cheered up anyone who was feeling blue. Always makes me look on the brighter side. I'm now wondering if I misread the thermometer on Monday when my temp went really low again, it's getting a bit dark in the bedroom when I wake up now and I usually get DH to read it as he has better eyes. It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, I just hate how messy my chart looks! Is that a sign of some kind of OCD - wanting results to be neat and tidy?!0

hi everyone
((hugs)) primmer, sounds nasty. Hope you feel better soon
What a lovely day it was today, we were all gazing out of the window wishing we weren't in the office! Hope it stays nice for the weekend
My chart looks a bit better today - what do you think? my chart
QQ do you still think I might have ov'd on CD35? I hope so cos if so we had very well timed BDing!
Didn't BD last night, both too sleepy.
Don't like the thing about long cycles potentially causing ovarian cancer...this cycle will end up being 50-odd days!

Evening ladies, hope you are well
I have been considering temping (still haven't been out to get a thermometer yet though) just wondering if anyone could tell me if it makes you feel better or more worried? It would be nice to know what was happening with my cycle but I'm just worried that it would make me feel sad if the temperatures weren't any good? Also do doctors consider it reliable evidence of a funny cycle or would they just brush it off?
Also I think I had a positive opk today, the line isnt as fat as the other one but its a very bright pink, more intense than the control line i think! Is that a +ve? or am i being an idiot? I think I'm only on day 6 but my cycles have been so short recently (19/17/16 days) that it might be possible?
Hope everyone is having a nice exciting Wednesday night0 -
I. am. Exhausted.
I literally shopped 'til I dropped this PM (presents for DW's 40th, which is today - but as she is in Canada working, I am blessed with extra shopping time)... and every time I got close to finding a present and going up to the till to pay for it - DS needed the toilet. Literally every time and we had to run out that very minute.
Well, I guess he is moneysaving in his own special way!Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -

I've personally found it fascinating.
I was diagnosed with PCOS a few weeks ago and although I was still getting highs and peaks on the CBFM, I wanted to know in a bit more detail IF I was ovulating, as on some months apparently, I don't! So its been helpful in that regard for me.
Also, I'm a bit science-y and have found myself getting very addicted to it. I love looking at others charts too!
On the negative side, I do wake up and when the thermometer is in my mouth, pray for it to go in the direction it should be going in!Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -
