    I've personally found it fascinating.

I was diagnosed with PCOS a few weeks ago and although I was still getting highs and peaks on the CBFM, I wanted to know in a bit more detail IF I was ovulating, as on some months apparently, I don't! So its been helpful in that regard for me.

Also, I'm a bit science-y and have found myself getting very addicted to it. I love looking at others charts too!

On the negative side, I do wake up and when the thermometer is in my mouth, pray for it to go in the direction it should be going in!

Exactly the same reasons why I like it - I dont have PCOS but I do have sort of irregular cycles, especially as Ive come off the pill so had no idea when I would be ovulating. I like looking at other charts too and wonder each morning what the temp will be and get a bit addicted to it.

The only thing is now its so hot, I will probably get some screwy temps the next few days, so its not always perfect. But, i think if you do it in conjuncton with an opk, then its pretty accurate.

  • Morning all

Nothing really to report here, just wanted to drop by and say hi to you all :)

Did another test yesterday - BFN again so am thinking I must be out for this month. No sign of AF yet but she can stay away for a few days if she likes as it's mine and OH's anniversary tomorrow so don't want her ruining that :p

Hope you are all ok, gonna go read back and catch up :)

Hugs to all who need them and SBDTA :A

TTC40. We have 3 children, and still go out and travel. OK we don't trek round the Himalayas but we never did that anyway. But we do go abroad at least twice a year, and have done since our oldest was about 3 months old. Babies and children are good travellers if they start early enough!

We also go out at least once a week. We have a regular babysitter every Friday night. This is a relatively new phenomenon, but I wish I'd thought of it years ago! It makes a huge difference to our stress levels.

DH also still works ridiculous hours as and when needed, and also travels abroad for work several times a year. He works in the city and often gets home well after midnight. I gave up work when my middle child was about 2 as I personally couldn't cope with the demands of a young family and the insane work culture in my place of work, but I do know plenty of dual career families, whose children are perfectly happy and well adjusted.

It really only has to change your life in the way that you want it to. Most of us find that when kids come along we want to take the foot off the career pedal for a while to spend more time with them, but if that isn't going to make you happy, it is a perfectly viable option to work fulltime and have someone else care for your child during working hours.

Nicki - I could not agree with you more - we havent let having our two children stop us having holidays that we love and careers that we want - you can make everything work if you want it to!
  • Ive decided Im going to try another test tomorrow morning with FMU and see what that brings - I guess if I ovulated later than the smily on the test it could still be positive - Im not getting my hopes up but we will see!!!

    Have a good day everyone!

Morning all. FF gave me OV lines today, I'm still wishing I could turn back time to find out if I misread Mondays temp - it just seems really high on Sunday if I hadn't OV-d. It also doesn't seem like much of a rise this month, so I'll be honest and say I'm jut counting down to AF to find out if I had an 11/12 day luteal or a 13/14 day one - ie did I misread that damned temp!

One of my colleagues told me his morning she's having her baby next September, I felt like asking if she had a crystal ball or hotline to God, as she'd be surprised to find you can rarely plan a baby in with such accuracy 3 months before starting to try. But then I'd have given away that we've been trying and I don't want anyone to know!
  • Morning all! And welcome newbies! :hello:

Nothing much to report here, been having the week from hell at work, and expressed as much to my boss yesterday so felt a bit better after that. :o:D

Then last night had a brilliant time watching a musical about T-rex. Really made my week. :)

Need to get down to some BDing asap really! www.MessenTools.com-Sex-022.gif

    Hope everyone is ok. :)

    Good morning:wave:

    Kaemi, seems you are 3DPO:cool:
It coincides well with your OPKs.
As for your colleague planning his baby, some are lucky and they can plan exactly when they have a baby:o
BB1984, looks like you may have ov'd at CD37, but it could also be a slow rise, and may have been anytime between CD35-37.
As for long cycles and cancer, 50days is not that long, I think they mean for those who only have AF once or twice a year (or less).
lemonmelon, your opk sounds like +, hope you BD'd:)
As for temping, some find it stressful, some not. It is a great feeling to spot ov though:)
2ba3c, hope you found a great pressie for your DW in the end:)
    Secretdebts, no Googling SS:naughty::D
Rebekah, this family business lark is harder in a way that I can't quit:o Good thing about DH's job is that pay is better when abroad:money:
    Taking a bra off?:p
Nicki, thanks for the input re not leaving babies for two weeks. I suppose the first year is the hardest, and I hope I could leave the baby for 2 weeks to my parents when the baby is older than a year old:huh:
jovichick, there's always hope so long as AF doesn't show:)
    Happy anniversary tomorrow:)
    Tryingforathird, good luck testing tomorrow:)
Lily, hope your work gets less hectic:o
