Awful consultation with a fertility specialist today - we were covered through Bupa, so thought why not.

He basically told us that we had a 0-4% chance of conceiving doing it the way we are doing AI with PCOS.

I'm prob at a guess 2/3 days away from ovulating and they counted 50 folicles on the scan. I dont even know what that means, other than it's a lot!

He confirmed I would need to try with Chlomid and stimming (which was abotu £600+ with them!!!), and of course when I called our local hospital to see if they had received my NHS referral letter sent on the 1st of Feb, they hadn't - it's lost somewhere :( So Ive had to chase again with my doctores, but I dont hold out any hope, they are bl00dy useless.

For some reason, DW thinks today's meeting was actually quite positive, I guess she likes to know what we are dealing with - when for me, I had been feeling more positive about it eventually working, but with % like that, we might as well hope to win the lottery! There are other options of course, but financially we can't commit to IVF for £7-8k a pop or even IUI for £1.1k / £1.5k at the moment.

I feel a bit like I want to give up, which is stupid I know - but it's what I want. It seems so impossible.

I think the thing that was hardest for me to understand, was all along I've been thinking well friends of ours got pregnant second try with Donor AI - so we have a chance. But then she didn't have PCOS. I had kind of forgotten about it.

    F*ckity f*cksticks.

Still got pneumonia :(. Am now on the antibiotics that I refused to take in the 2ww. When I told the doctor I was ttc and have been since May last year his response was "well just stop trying for a while". Then went for a chest X-ray & had to answer there was no way I could be pregnant & sat in the waiting room next to a woman with a 9 day old & a heavily pregnant smack head who stunk of whisky. Now sat at work trying not to cry.
Sorry about the completely moany post (bloody autocorrect just changed moany into mummy:(.

Was just checking in because I was worried about Aida and wondered whether she had any news about her bloods yet.

Sorry that you had such a bad consultation 2ba. If it helps we were told just over 3 years ago that we had less than 1% chance of conceiving naturally without ICSI (due to DH's SA) and less than 5% even with ICSI based on my age and other fertility issues, and I've had one live birth and one miscarriage since then (both conceived naturally, the first 2 months after we were told we had such a small chance) and had a coil in for about a year, and was pregnant for 9 months of that period :)

ETA - I have PCOS too by the way. That is one of my numerous "issues" :)

Oh tinks. That looks painful. Did you get any details of the driver which might help the police trace him, or better yet his license number?

kavics - I sympathise. My DH has been away a lot over the last 4 weeks, and I also don't like it when he goes. I have got better over the years, when we first got married I'd be in floods of tears when he was away, and find it difficult to sleep at night. Now I just miss him, and am very happy when he gets back. Which for me is lunchtime today!!!!!

Kavics, ditto that. My DW travels a lot for work, so its a constant emotional up and down juggling act! Now what I do is save up all the crap telly that DW doesn't really like to watch with me, and I watch it myself with a tub of ice cream, as a little treat!

Tinks! OMG..... I need to read back! Hope you are OK
