Well today has been a spectacularly sh*t day. Went into work this morning and was basically fired.
I was self employed and the director had taken a dislike to me from almost immediately (funny how I managed to get past the interview?!) - had a bit of weird feeling about it all anyway, as I knew I was the third person in the role in a very short space of time. Its a bit of a complicated story. I'm upset because we desperately need the ££s at the moment, Im upset, she got in before I could quit, I'm upset that the role WASN'T what it was advertised to be (self employed), I'm upset that I'm even upset, but mostly.. I'm just bl00dy furious and want to punch her in the face.

Aida - PCOS buds! I was thinking, it would be nice to set up a separate board, not to separate us, but where we can specifically post about PCOS related things, like meds etc. Sometimes they get lost in everything here and I know I would find it useful. Anybody else?

Hi 2ba. I know you haven't posted as much for a bit but I remember you complaining about the job being not what it seemed. Sorry for what has happened but it sounds like you are well out of it. And at least having been self employed in name you have no embarrassing stuff to put on your cv and don't need them for references.
That being said, if they are trying to get away with no notice or holiday pay, then I think you can challenge this as a sham self employment situation. Would be worth going over to employment board and discussing in more depth, and if you have legal cover on your home insurance getting an opinion. You need to move fast as there is a very short time limit to claim this.
Reading the forum in other parts today, several of the posters on this thread have had really !!!! things happen today but haven't been here yet to discuss. huge hugs to everyone who needs them.

It must be a full moon or summint eh *shakes fist at sky at nobody in particular*
That's very useful advice though - thanks Nicki. They actually said the job requires you to work 1 weeks notice, but I understand if you don't want to. I got up and said no thank you (sort of) and walked out, so I guess I forfeited that.
Apparently I have no legal recourse because I was employed for less than a year, AND self employed. Even though it wasn't really a self employed role and looks likely that it was just in name, so they could avoid paying TAX and NI.
And they were supposedly a charity.

Good afternoon ladies,
2ttb3, Glad you felt able to come back (although I'm sorry you had to if that makes sense) Well done with the positivity, fingers crossed your stay this time is short (in a really good way)
(((((hugs))))) fannyanna - hope your GP can help you out? bodies can really suck sometimes
2ba3c - that sounds awful, well done for your self control and not actually hitting her! hope you're okay.
I'm 8DPO and the 2ww is dragging like nothing on earth - part of me hates this bit of waiting but at least I can put my feet up knowing nothing will make a difference now.
I'm off to watch OBEM now and have a good sob, hopefully that will make me happy and shiny for this evening0 -
Afternoon,
It's a beautiful day out there, shame I need to work:(. I watched OBEM last night and couldn't believe how strong that lady was with the twins, it looked like it was a piece of cake for her to push 2 babies out and she had such tiny body. It was really emotional, I wish them good luck. And she looked so young but her voice made her sound much older!
Keeping my fingers cross Scottishchick27!!!
Fannyanna, so sorry for bleeding, please take care of yourself!
Another day (CD41), another BFN for me. Can I ask a really stupid question? I am over a week late now and really don't feel like AF is on the way, but don't have any pregnancy symptoms either. Just feel normal, whatever that is... CM is quite watery/a bit creamy. Is it possible for one ovary to not release an egg (therefore no AF) and then for the other one to take over the next month and then just carry on as normal? i.e. just skip a period? I clearly have NO understanding of the menstrual cycle, and googling is a dangerous game, so would love any advice from the ladies on here!
Mrsj28, that is exactly what happened to me last month. I have a regular cycle of 31 days, have never been more than a day late in the past 5 years. But last month I was 15 days late, pregnancy tests came back negative all the time and the ovulation sticks never came up positive so I'm guessing I didn't ovulate at all. I started to spot after 14 days late and got my period the very next day. It was really frustrating and still no idea why it happened but this month so far everything is back to normal, I ovulated on CD17 which puts me back on a 31 day cycle.
2ttb3, welcome back though I only joined in November (though have been trying since April and MC in Oct) so missed your previous posts.
2ba3c, huge hugs, what a day for you. How hard is to find a a new job in your area and are there any advertised at the moment? What are your plans?
I did a test this morning, obv BFN. I just wish OH was as active pre-ovulation as he is past-ovulation, we have been BD every day for the past 7 days, I'm so knackered:o.0 -
