Hello ladies and welcome Mrs Toast

Thanks for adding me Q, even though I don't think I'll make it to testing day. It's all in the thrill of the chase eh :)

Hugs MrsHappy - hope you can try and have a relaxing Sunday. Easier said than done I know.

Giz - I'm rubbish with FF charts, but it def looks like you've had a shift in temp and therefore ovulating. Don't rule out the OPKs just yet :p

Not much going on here. Haven't BD'd since Monday night as DH has been working. We cant dtd whatever time of day now like we used to. Have to wait until DD is fast asleep in bed - which doesn't give us many nights as DH works nights.

Very sad news about Whitney Houston. I feel sorry for her daughter :(

Never thought I'd see the day when you'd be encouraging SSing! Lol can't wait to see the results of skintchick's test though :T

Found a beautiful one (the redrow Warwick in fact) but as they're new builds on a not yet built estate they're ridiculously overpriced! In fact that house is on for 170k, and On rightmove an 'old' 3 bed with more outside space in a better area for 110-130k! Still was good to go and visualise, gave us a better idea of what we want so hopefully we'll get off our butts and save more :) x x

Is that what happened? I didn't think they knew how she passed yet x

They said no one else was involved. Well it could be anything that caused it, but she was seen looking rough and had been drinking last week.

Ahhh so BBT is a guarantee that you've ovulated? I've been trying to find this out. I've been taking my temperature for the last 2 cycles, but my temperature shift isn't as prominent as it used to be.

    http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/24c425

I suppose there is a clear shift, it's just not as different as it was 2 years ago.

Gizmodo-Yes, BBT shows you that you ovulated and here's why:

In essence, we have 5 fundamental hormones that are produced during a menstrual cycle.

-GnRH (found at the beginning of the menstrual cycle signals our pituitary gland to secrete FSH and later LH)
-FSH (stimulates the development and maturation of follicles)
-Estrogen/Estradiol (the developing follicles release estrogen and the rise of the estrogen can be detected by those saliva monitors. Estrogen is at its peak 1-2 days prior to ovulation and also the estrogen surge signals the release of LH)
-LH- triggers enzymes that makes the follicle to release the egg. So the OPKs just let us know what the LH leves are at its peak
-Progresterone - is produced by the corpus luteum (the follicle that was transformed by the LH becomes the corpus luteum after the ovulation) and because of the progesterone production our BTB rises.
(short resume from FF free book)

So long story short, if you don't ovulate, your BBT never rise. Sorry for the long and boring post but I though this will help you to see why BBT can be an important tool in TTC.

From your charts, it looks like you ovulated both time. You should buy BBT thermometer so you can accurately record your BBTs.

Ladies please feel free correct me as you all know I'm a newbie in TTC :D

    Mrs Toast - welcome

Wallby, that's a beautiful pic :D. Hopefuly I will get one like yours soon.
