Nicki - argh! What did your Mum say when she had done it?

We've just been to the GP who was LOVELY!

She asked 'out of interest' why we had waited/ decided now. I explained that it wasn't waiting for the right time but that I hadn't wanted one before now. I think it was a personal interest rather than a medical one!

She has booked me for CD21 test (on day 11 now) and then I can book for day 1 or 2 when it comes. Also booked for swab tests. OH been referred for SA & just has to wait for an appointment.

She said that she didn't think we would be eligible for NHS treatment due to age but that didn't mean we shouldn't progress - more that we may have to finance it.

I don't think I could have asked for more from her today.

If you have an iPod you can download a program called couch to 5k which is broken down into several parts and tells you when to walk and when to run to build it up gradually. I did it last year and found it really helpful to build it up without overdoing it.

I don't have an iPhone but I do think I've got an iPod touch lurking in a drawer somewhere, will have to dig it out and download that app, I've heard loads about the Couch to 5k without knowing what it is so just Googled and it looks ideal for me! Like the idea of having something tell me when to run and when to walk too! :)

Nice to hear that your trip to the Doctor was positive TTC40!

Re: Post Christmas blues, I've got it big time. I really want to take our decorations down at home but keep thinking that we need to keep the tree as long as possible to get our money's worth! I'm at work today and I've done no work so far. Plenty to be getting on with but I just CBA; there are no managers in, none of my team are here to talk to, the lights over my section of the office keep going off as they've got motion sensors and since it's just me sitting quietly at my desk they think there's no-one in, I'm all fuzzy headed from my cold so can't concentrate even if I wanted to... I wonder what would happen if I just didn't bother coming back after lunch?! ;)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

TTC40 - do glad your visit to doctors went well, it is a relief to get a nice doctor.

I have just left the doctors after having my cd3 blood test and at same time booked in for cd21 blood test. Do feel more positive feeling that tests are being done.

Welcome to Mokba and cmills16 - this forum is super friendly and you will find lots of helpful advice, and no stroppy judgmental people (well, we might be in real life, but we don't let on.....). Hope you both get your BFPs really soon :)

Nicki - SO sorry to hear about the car, what a nightmare - but as somebody else has already mentioned, surely your mum's third party insurance will cover it, you definitely shouldn't have to pay. Hope it gets sorted out soon.

On the weight loss front as a lot of people have been mentioning it - I just wanted to say that Weight Watchers online was a real success for my DH a while ago. No meetings to go to but you can still keep track of things and you don't have to deny yourself too much. I think there is some :money: way to do it if you go via a cashback site, and they usually have good introductory deals. I know it's not for everyone, but thought I'd mention it - we always thought we ate really healthy food but then realised a) we were eating huge portions and b) using a lot of oil (even olive oil) and other fat in our cooking. DH lost 2 stone in three months on it. He's put some back on so we are going to give it another go in January. Hope it might be useful for some people.

Went to see a friend with a four week old baby today.... brood levels HIGH now so really hoping for a 2012 Olympic baby!
  • Hi all,

Can anyone help on where is the best place to buy clearblue fertility monitor sticks is? I bought a monitor from eBay for £10 and the cheapest place to buy the test sticks are about £17.50 on amazon. I saw from camelcamelcamel that they were £10 for 20 sticks in September so that's quite a price hike. Is £17.50 the best price at the moment?

    Hello girls:wave:

After Googling etc, what the clinic did for my natural IVF was to stop the LH surge etc using Buserelin, and took the main egg out, then waited for the other eggs to catch up, and did another egg collection on the following day.

It seems to be a new thing the clinic started from last month. Don't know if the eggs from the 2nd day are any good, but so long as the main egg makes it:o

sexymouse, good luck for your job:)
teaandcakeordeath, sorry to see you leave:( Hope you will be back soon, or if you get a BFP, do let us know:wave:
Primmer, good luck with your DH's SA. Seems it is very hard thing to do for a man, harder than IVF:rotfl:
Squ1rrls, (((hugs))). Do you think you may be oving now with your mood?
    mokbka, welcome:wave:
I've added you to the first page, which CD are you now?
vesper, we missed you, sorry for the AF, but hope next year will be our year:o
    smiley_hug.gif
    And let's get slim together:j
Nicki, we have 8 frozen sperm vials:D
We were told that'll be enough for a year, but they used one on the 1st egg collection, another yesterday, and they said they may use one more today as 2 of the immature ones matured:(

But if we are not going to do any more IVF, then that'll be fine I guess. Can't believe DH produced enough sperm for a year's worth of IVF this month, and then decided not to do anymore:mad: Those frozen vials are expensive.

The eggs have been fertilised, and will be frozen if they get to blastocyst stage. If not, they discard it.

    (((hugs))) for your car:(
cmills, welcome:wave: Hope you'll get your BFP next month:j
I've added you to the first page:) Which CD are you today?
Primmer, glad your blood test went well:)
Everyone seems to have problem locating my vein, so I always have a difficult time:o
TTC40, glad your doctor's appt went well:)
Attina, I get my sticks from Amazon too, but it used to be cheaper back in October:huh:

Afternoon all  I've not been around the last 24 hours as we went put on a pub crawl with friends yesterday afternoon/evening. We went in about 10 pubs and everyone (except me ;)) had at least one drink in every pub  it was good fun spending time with our friends but it was tiring.

QQ ((hugs)) for DH saying he didn't want to do anymore IVF after this one. Did he give you any reasons? All sounds promising with your eggy collection. I'm keeping everything crossed that it works for you.

((hugs)) Sexymouse for prolonged AF. I hope she leaves soon.

Massive ((hugs)) teaandcakeordeath. I hope things work out for you.

:rotfl: Claire and MrsJ28 for the boobs of 11 and 12 year olds :) Mine are not massive but they increased a lot during my two unsuccessful pregnancies and although they have decreased they are larger than they used to be. Silver lining I guess :o;)

Fingers crossed for OH's SA Primmer

((hugs)) to everyone suffering from post Christmas/ pre new year blues.

Welcome Mokba and cmills I hope both or your stay's here are short and sweet.

((hugs)) for AF on Christmas day Vesper

((hugs)) Nicki for the van. Has you mum offered to pay for the cost or at least contribute?

Glad you had a nice doctor TTC40

Sorry if I've missed anyone :o

With regards to the dieting, I did SW last year and lost a stone. I didn't go to a meeting though as all the ones near me take place before I get back from work so I went on eBay and paid £1 and was then emailed copies of the syn charts, healthy extras etc and a load of SW recipes. I also used the mini mins forum which also has lots and lots of recipes (not just SW). Saved myself a lot of money and I still did ok :)

We are off back down to our hometown tomorrow for NYE then coming back new year's day. We are going to a friend's house party which should be fun but I'm not sure how I'll get away with not drinking without anyone noticing but I'll be 6DPO and getting close to any potential implantation so I don't think I should have anything. It's so tough to know whether or not you can have a drink or two as the information out there is so mixed and unclear :o

Hope you all having a nice day

    xx
