Its 9:35 and DD is asleep. She feel asleep in my arms while I rocked her after a big feed. I put a night light in her room till she went to sleep and played a Disney CD we bought her for Christmas.
I also sat with a bed sheet today as was metioned in a post.:T I have now put that sheet on her cot mattress.
I m now going to bed. Good night all and thank-you for all your support.
Aren't they cute when they're asleep? Mine still are, even though they're hulking teenagers, and we could quite easily throttle each other when they're awake ... :rotfl:

Anyway, I hope you sleep well, and don't feel guilty about rocking her or holding her at this age. I know you can get into habits that you might then struggle to change, BUT even if you do, I think it is a lot easier to change habits when a child is a little older. For example, controlled crying isn't recommended for very young babies, but can be used before a child can talk / understand what you say. And once a child can understand what you are saying and / or a star chart, you're away! :rotfl:

Anyway, I really only came on again to say that it might be worth leaving the light on all night. Not now, but as DD gets older you might find that if there's a light on she can re-settle herself. Whereas if she goes asleep with a light on and wakes up in the pitch dark - well, that would unsettle a few of us, wouldn't it? Either that or door open and the landing light on, whatever works for you.

Whisper it, don't tell his mates, but my 14 yo still has a night light ...

My daughter didn't sleep though until she was 5.

And spent the first whole night in her own bed (without her sister) when she was 11.

That doesn't make me a bad mum - it makes her a pain in the neck!
