My house is currently in meltdown after 8 year old spilled drink over expensive multi device touchscreen remote control. Somehow I've ended up getting the blame!

How did you get the blame?

Son and father happily playing lego building now, told him the cost, he says sorry end of, it is what it is:D

Actually I did think that and also HMV do a £60 trade in on old ipods maybe worth a look.

If the songs are backed up on your pc then they will be saved. Cant you claim for this throuh your insurance, is it not covered under the 'contents' cover?

Hope things sort themselves out. Your son sounds like a good un OP. He realised he had made a mistake and offered to pay to rectify it. Not many kids his age would do that.

  • Instead of insurance, invest in a strap and a cover. My son wears his ipod on a strap round his neck, so no chance of dropping.

OH was out at a drinks party when it happened. I only got confession 2 hours after drink was spilt. I told boys to see if it dries out by the next day otherwise they'll have to tell their Dad. It didn't get discovered by OH until next night when I was home from work. Boys said that I said not to tell him!!! OH shouts at me for teaching boys to lie (I didn't, I just didn't see the point in saying anything unless it was broken).

Anyway, OH is shouting, boys are crying because they can't watch their movie. OH is demanding that I apologise even though he won't listento what actually happened, boys are begging me to apologise. OH puts movie on anyway. I stay out of the way upstairs fuming at OH.

    We're still not talking now.

    Phew!
