RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

  • I went and got weighed last night- even though I had been in bed with my cold all day.

I lost 4 lbs, but could this be down to the fact that I had 1 slice of toast and 1 satsum, a few oven chips weight watchers and 2 x tea all day?

Although saying that I have had very little booze this week and i have been good.
    April Grocery challange £175

    Spent week 1 £29.90
    week 2 £62.64, TOTAL £92.54

Good morning lovely people!:D What a beautiful sunny day it is, just imagine ladies a little more sun and those lovely bikinis we are all going to wear due to the weight loss:D

Any way came on to ask for help... I loved and miss Iceland chicken in white sauce in a tin... have been told I can make low fat white sauce with fromage frais from scratch but have no idea how to make it.....I do eat a lot of fromage frais but like a yoghurt not to cook in it so could anyone help me to cook with it?

I did see Sainsburys perfectly balanced chicken in white sauce in a tin half a can 204 calories!! I would eat the whole tin though so put that back...

    Many thanks;)

i got talked into having a chinese takeaway last night:eek:  i had my mealplan sorted for the day went shopping in the afternoon then called in at a friends for a cuppa and ended up getting talked into it as my belly was rumbling badly :o all things considered i think i chose the healthiest thing i could see on the menu...special chow mein  anyone know how many calories is in it? i ate untill i was full then put the rest back in the container to take home for todays lunch. :A whereas before i would of scoffed duck n pancakes for starter and then sweet n sour with egg fried rice so at least i did try and make an effort :D :rotfl: apart from that little slip up i think i am still on track :j i was tempted in matalan yesterday to buy a stepper machine for £25 which shows calories used etc are these any good?

mornin :D i dont see any problem with buying it if you really enjoy it, just keep a check on the calories eaten and that you dont go over your days allowance (too much!;) ) i think if you cut out what you really enjoy eating totally you are more likely to have a pigout and blow your diet as eating becomes boring and functional without enjoyment. just watch your portion sizes etc and im sure you`ll be fine :D i cant talk anyway...i had chinese last night :o

    Morning All
I am so pleased I have stayed within my own 7 glasses of wine challenge for the first time. So pleased it really has worked this time. I still drink lots of tap water (really like it) but have managed to stay off softdrinks and beer completely.
I agree with Angchris I think if we allow ourselves something we really like in moderations it is a good thing as it acts like a boost. I have really started to think about how many glasses I drink since I set myself my challenge and actually now I enjoy it more and don't feel rough in the morning after a heavy weekend.
We have friends coming to stay Saturday so not sure if I will be successfull with the 7 glasses this week. Have some pork escalopes in the fridge to cook tonight problem is DH does not like pork so was thinking about putting them in the slow cooker. Any idea?
Must get back to work lots to do today.

I don't know what plan you are following, but if you are doing WW you don't have to go without that. I was just in Iceland, so looked at the can and the whole 398g tin worked out at 8 1/2 points, so you would be able to work that into your allowance.

I might be wrong but the Sainsburys one was in the lastest issue of SW and its 2 syns on a red day - the Good to yourself version of it - I dont have the magazine with me in work but will check later!

retired lady - hugs to you. It wasnt a pleasant experience and you didnt even have to tell us so well done for doing that. Try and use it as a positive experience thing - let this be the thing that keeps you motivated, any time you are struggling remember this. I hope you are feeling better about it today.

Edit to add - Just checked web site: Sainsbury's Be Good to Yourself, Chicken in White Sauce, canned 400g can

    Hi

First of all :grouphug: Marion I was so sorry to read of your experience last night, but you did the right thing in getting it off your chest by coming to this board, I hope it allowed you to have a good nights sleep and not lay awake dwelling on something that can't be altered. I'm sure your husband would feel upset if he thought that you were keeping this to yourself, so if you haven't already done so go and tell him, it's the old saying about a problem shared is a problem halved.

I read a very interesting article in yesterdays Daily Mail where a journalist went on an 8 week diet of 500 calories per day (all this size zero thingy). She had a BMI of 22 was 5ft 9in size 12. Very briefly she lost 6lbs after the first week but then only lost a further 11lbs despite having to follow an excercise programme of cardio, aerobics and strength training; all this on 500 cals a day  . This shows (to me) that her body went into starvation mode as a someone mentioned a week or so ago on this thread. She was miserable and depressed and who wouldn't be, she said she new of some models taking horse tranqs to help keep thin!! There were a lot of other issues of course but it was the low cal thing that caught my attention as these days we are now told that we can lose weight on 1500 cals whereas in my younger days it was always 1000 cals and that used to make me grumpy.

Apparently this was done as an experiment for a BBC programme Super Slim Me and will be shown next Wednesday (7/2) 9pm on BBC3. I think it will be worth viewing.
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!
