Welcome Sparkle and Coriander :) I've added you both to the list for the 2 pound club. I post the updated chart on Monday evenings, so post your result on Mondays and I'll include you.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

    Thank you Lois!

Looking forward to the February challenge as I'm a bit late for losing 7lbs for the January one! (Although you never know - hehe!)

  • Welcome Sparkle. We're a mixed bunch on here, some with clubs, some without, but either way the support on here in invaluable.

Sorry, Honey, I must have missed your post. Did you find it easy and filling (always 2 very important points for me)?

    Off to watch CSI now.

Be good, watch out for the alcoholic haze, which usually makes kebabs and the like look irresistable :rotfl:
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • coriander, whats your sig? I'm really curious!! BTW, welcome and i hope you enjoy the thread, it's fun - that goes for retiredlady too. My day out was a disaster. Despite what the website says Bolton Castle is CLOSED in the winter. Wish I'd known that before we left Leeds! Still I consoled myself at the Wensleydale Creamery with the single nicest dessert I've ever had. I know I shouldn't linger on it, but I have to share - Wensleydale with ginger cheesecake. I asked for the recipe and was told - crumble up wendsleydale with ginger, beat with cream cheese and icing sugar, spread on a crushed ginger biscuit base. I synned it as a whole cheesecake but naughtily gave myseld a HEA for the cheese. COnsultant, will i burn in hell?!

Evening all! Just have to say i agree with a previous poster without this thread i doubt i'd be doing so well this time round, don't feel so alone with dieting now! in saying that had an off night tonight mum came home from her trip away and had M&S chicken tikka mini fillets and Tesco egg fried rice for dinner - dread to think how many syns are in them but its a rare treat cos we dont have either of those shops here. Will be back on track tomorrow. C x

I am tired of not having dessert so I made a variation of an SW recipe for jelly.....sugar free strawberry jelly and whilst it is cooling drain a tin of tropical fruit in juice add some of it to the jelly, put in fridge, wait for it to set and voila!!
I put it in individual glasses, looks good with the bits of fruit in, offered it round to the super slim rest of the family and my son loved it so much he had 2 of them!!
It is excellent for a fill up, to not feel so left out and cannot be more than 40/50 calories each portion....xxx

Oh wow, I haven't checked in all week and am I regretting it. OH was on night shift and DS has a cold (aww!) He's only 15 months old and I reckon he thinks it's the end of the world. God love him, he's really suffering.

Anyway, I've had a really busy week as you can tell. Got the results of my liver scan on tuesday and I do have gallstones. (Thank goodnes OH put me on his health insurance.) I've been looking into managing them until I get to see the consultant and it looks like a very low fat diet (both before and after the op) and much smaller portions at mealtimes - although I have to admit, that I've been eating smaller portions anyway just in case I get an attack of pain... eugh It's awful!

Has anyone out there suffered from this and do you have any advice for me?

I'm sorry I haven't caught up with the posts this week, but welcome newbies and well done losers!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone.

Delly - Sorry to hear about the gallstones - do you have to have an op to remove them? Poor DS - I can sympathise because OH has it too - well he has man-flu - and according to him has "never felt this bad ever"!!!! Harumph, its only a few sneezes..... (Says she who will probably have it next :))

Victory - have you tried making rice pudding SW-style - Add a cup of pudding rice to a casserole dish, add 1 1/2 cups boiling water and some sweetner. Bung in the microwave for approx 5-7 mins (I do it in 2 min intervals and keep stirring) or until cooked. Stir through a muller light and enjoy, best not shared with anyone!! You could also make a SW banoffee - crumble a digestive biscuit into a small dish (3 syns, I think? If you really want you could melt a little butter marg through it but you would need to allow more syns) Chop a banana over the top of it and cover with a toffee muller light and leave in the fridge to chill. You needn't not have any desserts, there are lots of low cal ones - eg meringue nest are only 4-5 syns - top them with fruit and a yogurt.

Success Express went ok I think, I seemed to eat a lot more than I normally would but I was definately stuffed! So far today I have only had my porridge .We go to my parents for dinner so need to ring and see what we are having so I can plan what kind of day today is going to be. Its just hard getting your head around SE - maybe I'm reading too much into it

Its nearly the end of the month :T Pay day :T I have been off alcohol all month and am looking forward to a nice glass of wine!!

Have a good day everyone - catch up again later X
