I am new to slimming world and went shopping yesterday- wanted some quorn mince but they did not have any- so bought morrisons own `meat frre mince` will this be free on a green day?

    thanks

I'm not absolutely sure cos it's not in the book, but if it's only a meat substitute (ie Quorn-type or soya) then it should be free. However, don't be put off Quorn altogether if you don't like this one. One of my members mentioned it this week. She like Quorn mince but said the Morrisons own was horrid (sorry, don't want to put you off, lol).

Piixxy We all love the SW roasties (as described by Lois) and I do them every week along with parsnips done the same way. You really get the flavour of the food instead of the fat and they are super-healthy.

Honey-gem good luck with your weigh-in. Was that 3-4 litres of water a day (excellent) or ¾ litre (not so good)?
SuzieW don't despair, ¾lb is a loss, so you know you're doing something right. Stick with it, you'll get there:)

Welcome Mice_Elf you'll certainly get support here. 2lbs a week is perfect. Though you're doing it alone (except for us lot now) what plan are you following?

KatiePC the potato needs to be a little drier than for normal mash, but the important thing is, it has to be thin. Mine took a while to crisp up but it was lovely when it was ready - much nicer than all that bread base.
    Have a lovely day out:)

MissMP you've made me want to rush out and buy seeds!!! You're obviously enthusiastic about growing your own and it has certainly made me want to do it too. May I ask what the growers did to the tomatoes (dare I ask)? My husband swears they wee on them, but I've never believed him
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Morning all. Hope you are all well today - its a lovely day here (albeit cold) but the sun is shining :D We are doing some work around the garden today - fixing the fence etc in preparation for our home visit about the dog! We have registered an interest in a 2 yo cocker who we would love to have come and live with us - they are hopefully coming to do the home-check at the start of the week, Havent heard anything about the puppy yet - I think it must have gone to the other couple.

Might take a race up to Sainsburys later to see if they have the trampette Miss MP mentioned. The kids have an 8' trampoline but I want one :D

Had porridge and grapefruit for brekkie. Have dispatched DH to shop for some bacon for lunch - going to have some bacon and beans and piles of mushrooms and tomatoes - is that ok for Success Express

Tonight we are having tuna (a la M&S), some noodles, oven roasted veg - tomatoes (hope they weren't pee'd on )onion, courgette, garlic, peppers, mushrooms, along with asparagus tips and mange tout - Again - is this ok for success express? I have tried to plan what I am having today to fit around SE. Its oh so confusing this slimming lark :rotfl:

PS: Welcome Coriander and Mice elf

    Well you're most welcome :D

Are you following a particular plan?

We're a mixed bunch on here, some doing Slimming World, some Weight Watchers, a couple of Rosemay Conleys and some just cutting down in general, so whatever you do, you'll fit in, lol.

Gotta go get the shopping now, catch you all later

  • So far today I've had muesli with an apple for breakfast, 4 ryvita with reduced fat cheddar, scrambled eggs mixed with some mushroom & celery for lunch and I'll be having chicken and a chickpea concoction made with lots of vegetables including spring onions, red pepper, celery, mushrooms, grated carrot and some spices (coriander?) for dinner. Drinking lots of tea, coffee and water. How virtuous am I? How long will it last?

Believe your husband. One of the old men use to wee from the very top of the ladders they often work from.
Don't forget that fallen tomatoes are picked up and sold too and they could be laying on 'wet' ground.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

That looks excellent, seems rather SW-ish to me!!!

It will last if you want it to. I'm a firm believer in the "think yourself thin" school of thought. You have to visualise yourself how you want to be and with planning and decication, you'll get there.

    Really must go. TTFN!
