Lose Weight 9

Hi all,
me and hubby (elwyncantcope) are doing not bad, hubby is having salads at work with a homemade brown cob, and fruit and it is already showing how much he has lost. I find it hard when the kids want a biscuit or crisps and normally I would have one, but I have held off, I dont want to broadcast to my family that we are losing weight, so I was gutted when my mom turned up with 4 packets of cream biscuits.. I will just have to be extra careful and not give in to them.
looking forward to weigh in on monday. fingers crossed its a good one.
Good luck everyone

Need some motivation!
Remove the word 'failure' from your vocabulary. You're human and so make mistakes from time to time, as do we all. The main thing is not to let it send you into a downward spiral.
That was yesterday, today is a whole new start - Day One!
One of my favourite ways to express this is to imagine you had a beautiful bunch of flowers. If one of them died, you wouldn't throw away the whole bunch would you? You remove the bad one and carry on enjoying the rest of the bunch.
You can do this, I KNOW you can, with a little help and support from us.
Sam, you don't have to tell yu Mum, or anyone else that you're slimming. Just tell them you're trying to eat more healthily, for the sake of the whole family. Keep it up and you'll see the results in no time.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Consultant, you have a happy knack of talking complete sense!
Thanks.
Salad for tea for me today tho!Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
Ice - pizza occasionally gets me too. It's so unfair! you can make most takeaways work on SW but pizza? forget it! I worked out that for a normal pepperoni pizza from the takeaway i need something like 120 syns! there's just no way you can 'budget' for that. Just accept it as a blip and move on. I used to have pizza every two weeks, now i'm down to about every 6 weeks, and only if I've been especially good for the whole week and haven't used up my syn allowance on every single day. Frozen ones are better but still tough. I wonder if those WW ones are any good - does anyone know?0

Thanks consultant, when I mention I am on a diet, all they say is not another one, so I dont say anything as I would prefer them not to know,
my hubby has no food temptations at work, he just eats what is put in front of him, he is very lucky, I have to feed the kids and they dont like salads etc, so if anyone has any healthy eating meals that young kids would like I would be very grateful.0 -

Hi
Congrats to all who are having a good week, I thought I was having a brill week but I got on the scales this morning (I usually just do this on Monday only) and found that I am exactly the same as I was last Monday! I have been so good I thought a midweek weigh in would inspire me further over the weekend. Does anyone else check on their progress between weekly weigh-ins and have had this happen? I feel that I'll have to nearly starve myself over the weekend now.
katiepc Did I read your post correctly re the pork and pepper goulash? Did you make the whole quantity and you and your OH eat it all? If so then bloomin'eck if not then sorry I must have read it wrong :rotfl:
Consultant Please may I ask what a "fascinator" is? Or have I read this wrong too?
I think I'm cracking up, thank heavens it's Friday :j
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

petrichor - it did 2 meals plus one for the freezer. In our defence we didn't have anything else with it but I think we really are just greedy wotsits! I think my boss is trying to sabotage my diet as she bought me 'the gastropub cookbook' for my birthday and it's just all cream and butter. There's an interesting one tha might adapt though - a shepherds pie that uses the meat off braised lamb shanks instead of mince. And i can answer your question for consultant too! A fascinator is one of those pretty headband type things you wear to weddings that are all fluffy and pretty and girly and feathery and sparkly and stuff. Or maybe not all of those things at once because that might be just a bit too much.0

samcantcope (I would rather call you Sam) my husband is a totally fussy eater (sorry no kids so using him as example for you). I find that is I involve him in the cooking of the healthty food he is more likely to eat it. He refused to eat salad and cucumber tomatos until we grew our own. In summer pick your own are also great fun for kids. I know it is not much use now but spring is only a couple of months away and I grew enough salad for us in large pot in the garden.
Having a quite good day but a bit bored so ate 7 Jaffa Cakes really too sweet. Not got anything in the house for dinner (not like me at all) but a lot of frozen stuff which I suppose I could defrost in the microwave. Is it ok so defrost in the microwave I find it does not taste as nice.
