I made the carrot cake from this months SW mag, no one liked it all that much so ended up in the bin, my H is very happy eating most stuff but this he did not enjoy, oh well, gonna' try the cauliflower and chick pea curry this evening for him.
It is true what the OP says about having people in the office supporting etc, I have been on the healthy eating plan for three weeks now and everyone knows and today went to work and two people want to start SW so that is good for me and for them as there will be much less unhealthy stuff around us if we are all doing..........at home I am safe as I do not buy it in the first place so cannot have it!! xxx0 -
Congratulations tinytot143 :j
You will certainly be doing yourself a favour by keeping your weight gain in check whilst pregnant. My best friend had a huge weight problem when she fell pregnant (after being told that she wouldn't conceive because of her size!) but with careful eating and great support from her GP and midwife she managed to be 2st lighter after giving birth something that most of us can only dream of. I hope everything goes well.
loopylass30 9lbs off no wonder you're over the moon, great stuff. Which plan are you following please? Keep it up.

I wouldn't advise special fried rice to anyone on a diet. its fried. if I have to have a take away I tend to go for boiled rice. or even the rizaz microwave rice is nice if your doing slimming world most of them are about 2 syns for a whole packet. I love it with loads of soy sauce on.HOW MUCH ?0 -

Yes, I ditched the special fried rice as soon as I started WW. Boiled or plain rice is the way to go and you can always jazz it up a bit as you said. I have stayed at target for the past 4 years but could never go back to fried rice as I don't like the taste of it any more!A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -
Couldnt really post earlier as I was in work. Loopylass - 9lb is FANTASTIC and I am not going to pretend that I am not SOOOOO jealous!!! Well done you :T:T
Savingsgirl - I'm with the others, I would avoid the fried rice at all costs. Its ok to make your own version at home with some cooked boiled rice, spray a little fry light into a frying pan, add the rice and an egg. I also add peas, mushrooms etc and its just as nice.
Tinytot - I'm pretty sure you do still pay for class but consultant will be able to confirm that for you later. Hope the pregnancy goes well.
SW chips in the oven, back once I have devoured them0 -
Helloooo.
I've been out for the day shopping and my purse is empty, my plastic is in meltdown and I've had a wonderful time. Bought my Mother of the Bride outfit - 2 sizes smaller, so you can tell how determined I am. It cost an arm and a leg, so there's no giving in to the biccy tin. I am expecting you all to keep a stern eye on me for the next 5 months, lol.
Loopy remember the way you feel today, so that on a week when you don't do as well as you expect, you can be sure it will continue to work for you if you don't give in. Congratulations, you're a star!!!
Savingsgirl, as everyone says, don't have the fried rice froma Chinese, it is cooked in lots of fat. You can make your own, so quickly and easily and you'd be able to eat loads more. I too use a packet rice, add onions, peas and sweetcorn and fry in frylight. Add a few shakes of soy sauce and it's yummy.
Victory, everyone loses weight at a different rate, if you're walking everywhere and galloping up and down stairs you're doing yourself no end of good. Keep it up and you'll get to your target, no problem.
Tinytot congratulations, what lovely news. Sadly you will still have to pay to attend your class, but it really does help to keep your weight gain in check. I have a member who turned up with her new baby just this week and she'd only gained 24lbs throughout her pregnancy. She said herself that with her first baby she gained over 4 stone and it stuck with her till she lost it at my group (older child is 3). Your consultant will be able to give you a form which you should show to your midwife just to let her know how healthy the plan is. There is also a plan for the later stages and when baby is born and you're breastfeeding. Think how good it would be to have a new baby and your figure back within weeks!
Welcome back QT2006 and well done on the weight loss Karren.
Quote KatiePC: I'm going for an indian tomorrow which is a new thing with SW - I thought I'd have a green day, fill up with rice and have chicken dhansak, using my HEBs for the chicken. Can you deduct 2 HEBs from a dish or not? Thanks!
Sounds like a good plan and I would definitely deduct your HEBs for the chicken if you've had no others throughout the day. Dhansak is one of the good ones too, only about 6½ syns per portion. Eat and enjoy!
What did you mean by the 'faffy' HEBs?I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
