Hi...first time I've looked at this thread....
I have bought quite a few workout dvds recently...I'm about 2 and half stone overweight....I've had a couple of weeks of exercising and have been using the weights and lightly dieting too....but haven't lost a thing....so thing I will ditch the weight workouts and go for cadio too as after all the toning can wait just want to see some fat shifted first.
I can't say i enjoy exercising but I hate dieting more and also believe ww is a waste of time, too unrealistic..... but I have to say I really enjoyed Davina power of 3, the boxercise routine as it is a great stress buster too....:j

I agree with some of the workout dvds. The 2 I use alternately are Angela Griffin Dancemix Workout 2 and The Allstar Workout. Great music on both, not too taxing but enough to get you to shift some weight and tone up and I don't get bored doing them. A good tip whilst choosing a workout dvd is have a look on Amazon. There are a lot of reviews on each one and well worth a read before you fork out. :o

    Hi

I joined slimming world last week and it`s weigh in tonight I have been ok with the food but popped round to see a friend last night and had a drink. Well more like a bottle of wine! but did not eat anything!

Can I still have a life- ie a drink or a meal out while on a diet?

Been away for 24 hours and 6 new pages wow. Thanks Lois for doing the chart, I had not realised I was that close to getting to the 7lb target.
How are you doing on the wine front, I am still not sticking to it, so far this week 10:eek: glasses and still today to go. I was away on business and were taken out for dinner to difficult not to have a glass on wine. At least there is always next week. Wonder how Edimew is getting on on the slopes?

Consultant or Connie it must be hard to motivate others and still loose yourself. I think you are fantastic on here always there to praise others and answer questions. I am sure you will reach your goal for your daughters wedding and look lovely.
Out later on this afternoon but then working from home the rest of the week. Will try to be good and hopefully not have any wine tonight.
Well done to everyone else who lost weight too.

Did you know that WW have brought out their line in wines with the points of the bottle of what each glass is? That may help you with the wine prob!

No, no connection or link whatsoever! Just wanted to make sure it didn't get lost as this thread is so popular! I lost 3 stone on WW and it changed my life and I just want to help as many people on here as possible using WW. :o

My friend lost her weight (and kept if off) with Weight Watchers and is just like you - telling everyone how good Weight Watchers is:rotfl: He partner lost a lot of weight on it too and said he couldn't believe he was on a diet with all the food he was allowed to eat:D They did the No Count plan but I think ww have changed that name this year?

For me, I use WW as it uncomplicated to use and I have managed to keep the weight off with WW. Even if I feel like making unhealthy choices, I still seem to maintain. Each to what suits them best, but I'm with you LouBlue.:D

RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

1lb in fat terms = nearly 2 packs of butter. Well done Ste:T

I do know how you feel though, I always think of the comedian Peter Kaye's take on diets and the 1lb loss and it still makes me laugh. Can't hear the song 'Lady in Red' without wanting to laugh either, after what that programme 'Drop the Dead Donkey' did:D

  • Swizzle, life doesn't stop when you're food optimising. Your syns are there to have wine, chocolate or anything else that rings your bell, lol. Just stay within the allowance and you'll still see good weight losses.

Exercise is a good addition to a healthy eating regime Bella, but, though it will shape up your body, you'd have to do totally unrealistic amounts of exercise for several hours every day to lose weight with it alone. You really need to put the two together for optimum weight loss. We don't use that rude four letter word (d**t) and much prefer the term 'healthy eating'.

Weights build muscle, it's true SaryM, but it's the muscle which burns more calories every hour of every day, by revving up your metabolism. You won't get the bulging bits of a body builder if you follow a proper routine, but it will tone and shape your body. Cardio is good for a healthy heart but you would be better to combine them along with your healthy eating campaign.

    Excellent loss Juliejim, well done!

Ste-ste, don't worry about a slow start, you're off the starting blocks and if you continue to lose at that rate, it equates to almost 4 stone in a year :j

Have a lovely day everyone. I'm off to MacArthur Glen for some retail therapy with a friend
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
