    Hello All

I'm veyr new to this split ticketing lark!

I want to travel from Edinburgh to London, outbound on Friday 9 May and return Sunday 11 May.

My times on those days are fairly flexible, but I don't want to arrive into London too late on the Friday night because I am going on a Stag Weekend. For the journey back to Edinburgh, I don't want too leave particularly early on the Sunday because we'll be out late on the Saturday!

    Any help appreciated :)

    Hi All,

Appreciate any help. We are two adults and would like to go Edinburgh to London on April 7. Arrive in London latest by 2 pm. Depart London on April 8th anytime after noon. the cheapest i can find is about £150. Given the time between now and april i would have hoped to find better priced tickets but no luck. thanks again

    Try this, take a bit longer but saves a packet;

Edinburgh W to Birmingham NS 7th 06:08 £31 Advance Singles
Birmingham NS to London Euston 7th 11:50 £19 Advance Singles

London Euston to Birmingham NS 8th 13:03 £10 Advance Singles
Birmingham NS to Edinburgh W 8th 15:03 £31 Advance Singles

Total: £91 for the both of you return

There's quite a few different combination available at the moment but if you choose a different time then make sure you give yourself plenty of time to make the your connection, at least 20-30min just in case of a late train

    Hi everyone.
Quoted return is cheapest £137.50, or 2 singles at £250!! By splitting tickets, tho on same train, at Swansea-Cardiff-Bristol-Birmingham-Edinburgh, with a mixture of singles and 1 return I got it down to £79.
    Very pleased with that!
  • Sometimes I need to get to a meeting in London for 9a.m. from Trowbridge. Return to Waterloo or Paddington is £148.50. But I bought Trowbridge - Woking return for £29.70 and Woking - Waterloo for £17.30. Total saving £101.50.And the tickets are valid on all trains.

Going the other way via reading, you can save money by getting a split ticket to reading, but not all the tickets are valid on all trains, so a good deal more complicated. And the saving is not so significant.

I was looking for tickets for tomorrow (yeah i know I left it late0

Anwyay, I couldnt get anything cheap enough so arent going, but I did manage to find some savings by splitting.

Sunderland to newcastle on the metro
    newcastle to darlington
darlington to york (I think it was)
    york to sheffield
    sheffield to birmingham new street,
    new street to international

It worked out £132 something instead of £162.80 if I booked one ticket for whole journey.
As appose to £229 on the quoted price I got before I came accross this website!!!

shame I didnt find this in time to have found a sving for tomorrows trip. I now booking in advance saves, but I didnt know until today if I was travelling or not, it is optional for lesiure not work or anything.
As I say i decided not to go.

Oh and that was for one adult one child too
