    Hi, can anyone help me please as I've been trying to sort out my train journey for next week, but my pc is on a major go-slow and hissy-fitting day and after 3 hours of trying, I'm getting a wee bit frustrated as I've only got one posible result so far! The best price I've found for 2 return journeys is £99.60 with the discount.

    I have a disabled persons railcard and will be travelling (with a companion) from Banbury to Camborne on thursday 5th march and returning on either sunday 8th or monday 9th. (from what bits my pc's let me see, the journey on sunday will take 2-3 hours longer than normal so it'll more than likely be monday as I can't face 7 hours+ travelling.)

    If anyone can help, I'll be so grateful.

    I'm guessing the sites must have been busy as to why I couldn't sort this out at time of original post as I've finally got my tickets booked today. I didn't find anything by split ticketting, largely due to the time factors and too much to sort out on top of train fares. However, I did find out that ipoints give 1 point per £1 if buying fares over £25 when buying through thetraineline.com link so have done that.

    Also, at the end of the transaction there was a link to ShopperDiscountsandRewards.co.uk saying I could get a discount voucher of £10 of a further purchase of train tickets booked within 30 days. On the opening page to this website, I found the voucher is actually £15!! This appears to be a special offer as the £10 was crossed out and £15 in it's place. Unfortunately, I didn't think to check this out further, (ie how long this special offer in on for) before thinking of posting here.
  • Hello there - I am trying (as I write this ) to find the cheapest way of getting my parents (both under 60 so cant get that railcard) from Darlington to Stevenage on a return 6/4/9 to 12/4/09. It's proving really expensive - over £100. It's less than that for me and my partner to take both our children on the same journey with a family railcard - does anyone know any way round this price hike - so many people encouraging us to help the environment and use public transport - but thats only viable if it's cheaper - at over £100 it certainly isnt cheaper than in a 1.3 car!! HELP??

    Just had a quick look and you could try this;
    Darlington to Stevenage 6/4 19:06 £40 Advance Single
    Stevenage to Darlington 12/4 18:50 £40 Advance Single
    Total £80 return for the both of them

    There are a few other later trains on both dates, but don't forget that it is Easter week that week so cheap tickets will sell out very quick

    Hello everyone, does anyone know what is the cheapest way to get from london to brighton, off peak with walk up fares?
    I can't book a cheapest advance, as i am unsure of my travel times, and I have never been to Brighton before!

    Thanks

    The only way to reduce the cost with walk up fares in London is if you have a Travelcard as you can use that to travel up to the last station within the zones your Travelcard is valid for. All you do is present it at time of booking
  • Hi there - thank you - I forgot about the later trains.. thanks for looking for me!
