That's the standard walk on fare at weekends. Advance singles haven't sold out, but come to more than that when added together so no point.
Check if split ticketing at Peterborough works - it does some of the time
If not, no idea other than - try to book earlier0 -
Try booking via Sheffield for Leeds - London0
-
Lancaster - Crewe
Crewe - Birmingham New Street
Birmingham New Street - Cheltenham
Can save up to 30 pounds depending on availability of cheap tickers etc!
Get a Rail Card and save even more! :P
Hope this travel advice helps!:beer:0 -

But check for through advance singles first - if they are available (from £9 allegedly) they will be best0 -
Booked tickets from Darlington to Cardiff single, 3 weeks in advance. One change at Manchester.
Price before split was £90
Split charges
Darlington to Manchester Picadilly £13
Manchester Picadilly to Cardiff £10
Total - £23 saved £67
Booked through National Rail who then redirect you to the indvidual companies website.0 -

Try splitting the journey at either Exeter St Davids, Bristol Temple Meads or WestburyWhoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
Buy Taunton to Bristol (Temple Meads or PArkway), then Bristol to Oxford - max £31 but less if you buy in advance. Normal fare £64 one way (daylight robbery).
It is even cheaper coming back as the Oxford to Bristol ticket is only £16.50.
My top tip - DON'T USE TRAINLINE.COM! Use http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/ - NO CHARGES AT ALL, EVEN FOR AMEX !!0 -
Hi,
