Thank you. What website is best to use? On thetrainline.com the cheapest is £65 return?0

Just discovered route splitting, some successes are:
Aschurch (Tewkesbury) to Birmingham around half price split at Bromsgrove
Evesham to Paddington around half price split at Oxford
Birmingham to Edinburgh around half price split at Crewe
Crazy isnt it. We need a web site that gives you the cheapest split option.0 -
Any idea's how to get from oxford to glasgow and back cheaper? It'll either be 1 adult and 1 child or 2 adults and 2 children. We dont have a railcard
Its £160 for me and 1 child

The middle one of these - not in my experience, definitely not on flexible tickets. Maybe with advance purchase on the Oxford - London leg. Given the cancellation/delays record on the Cotswold line I wouldn't want to risk it0 -

Best way.
1. Buy a Family Railcard use this thread to get it for £18
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1202549&highlight=family+railcard
2. If possible buy your ticket well 8-12 weeks in Advance and look for the cheap Advance Singles
3. If No direct Advance Singles left try Split Tickets at either Birmingham, Mancester Pic or CreweWhoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -

You will find it hard to get it cheaper than £33 as you live in the London commuter belt and at that time its bread and butter money for the Train companies, your best bet for a cheaper fare is to try and travel by coach or bus
You could get it £5 cheaper by registering with First Great Western and buying the tickets with them see this website for details

Wait for the cheap singles as already advised. Look for them before bothering about a return
All the rail sites will have the same fares. The trainline charges a booking fee which the train companies' own sites don't0
