seeking a single from watford junction to manchester picadilly on sunday 9th Nov, with a YP railcard. Best price I can get is £35 first class. Bizzarely second class is more as there are no advanced tickets left.

Try this Split ticket also requires a change of train;
Watford Junction to Stafford 09:39 Advance Ticket £8.60
Stafford to Manchester Pic 13:53 Advance Ticket £4.60

Total: £13.20 bit of a wait at Stafford an hour and 53 minutes

I am leaving Liverpool on Sat 29 Nov 08 (am) and returning on Mon 1 Dec 08 after 4pm. Aim to arrive in edinburgh at about noon on sat.

Does anyone have any promo codes for virgin trains? I have searched using separate fares and the cheapest i can find is 47 pounds.

Can anyone help me please?

Liverpool LS to Edinburgh 29th 09:57 £10 Advance Single
Edinburgh to Liverpool LS 1st 19:00 £11.50 Advance Single

Total: £21.50

Buy Early as these Advance tickets don't last long

Thanks, but that wait is too long and changing trains would be a pain.

What's the date u want to travel?

The cheapest advance I could find was £12 each way but these ticket are Very rare.

However, you could try this Split ticket and change of train;
Newcastle to Newark Northgate leaving 04:30 advance ticket £11.25
Newark Northgate to Nottingham Anytime Day return £5 (and back to Newark)
Newark Northgate to Newcastle leaving 14:29 advance ticket £11.25
Total: £27.50

Other Stations to try a split at are Chesterfield and Grantham

Hiya pls can someone help push me in right direction for train ticket.

I am travelling on 7th November on the 23.10 arriving Redruth 07.22

Returning on 9th November between 4-5pm hopefully getting back for before midnight and the cheapest price on raileasy for return ticket is £105

i could get the 9.44 back but means waiting around reading station for an hour at about 4.30 in the morning and thats £74

I do have anetwork railcard but thats only valid until exeter and cant seem to get the discount,

Pls help

You could try this;
Twickenham to Redruth 7th 23:10 Off Reak Return £74
Redruth to Twickenham 9th 16:44 Off Peak Return

Sorry but that the best, its to close to travelling dates to get any bargain priced Advance tickets

Bedford to Llandudno. Leaving on 23rd December, returning 29th December. National rail quoted me £126 for 2 adults, one child with family and friends railcard. I booked it as 2 single journeys, split tickets at Manchester on outward journey, direct from train companies( East Midlands and Arriva Trains Wales). Return journey was booked through National Express, no need to split as the entire journey only cost £28.45. It took a while to find these tickets but at a total cost of £63.10, I saved just under 50%. Well worth the extra time!
