Try this;
Glasgow central to London Victoria (Including underground fare from London Euston to London Victoria) £19.50 Advance Ticket
London Victoria to Bognor Regis £19.40 Anytime Ticket
Total £39.90 :j
Glasgow central to London ticket is an advance ticket and this need to be purchased a couple of weeks before traveling as they do sell out quicklyWhoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -

If you buy early, as in 10-12 weeks you can get an advance Ticket
Glasgow central to Bognor Regis Advance £23
These tickets for that route have just come out 15th Dec - 23rd Dec these tickets do not stay for long  so book early if possible. Else Split tickets as aboveWhoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -

Since Sept 08 9.30 am is the time that all train tickets change price from peak to oof-peak, so for morning travel try buying return tickets for the first station that the train stops at after 9.30, then you only pay 'peak' for the very first bit of the journey e.g
9.23 Coventry - Manchester - peak return price £39.80
so if you buy offpeak return from 9.32 Birmingham International to Manchester, it is £19.
then standard return from Coventry to Birm Int is £4.40, saving around £18.
These are YP railcard prices, but the same rule applies for full price.
For anyone travelling in West Midlands splitting a ticket at Brimingham New Street nearly always makes two parts of the journey cheaper.0 -
Book two separate singles in a single transaction on NXEC site and you can get it for as low as £39.60 return from 20-27 nov. 52.50 means return travel at more convenient times.
that 's 13.35 outward (you'll never get a split ticket cheaper than this) but you have to arrive in london at 00.22.
otherwise its 26.25 each way. Not bad - again you'd struggle to get splits for better than this.
If you do try splitting then try it at peterborough.
Or get a bus into Darlo and travel from there....
didnt even bother looking at grand central0 -
Hi guys,
Starting a new job in London (will be working by London Bridge) so will need to go daily to London - King's Cross from Kings Lynn.
Now looking for the best way to get there - Which would be cheaper to buy Daily, weekly or monthly tickets, plus I've heard all about splitting but not sure where to split or even if it works out any cheaper for me?
Any ideas would be hugely appreciated, I'm not really a seasoned traveller and am totally baffled by the whole thing. Many thanks in advance,:j

Hi,
Due to a temporary job change I need to travel from Birmingham to Thornaby most weeks for the next year. The main consideration is cost, so it doesn’t have to be by train but coaches don't seem any better.
I need to arrive in Thornaby by 10.50am every Tuesday and can depart any time from 1510 onwards every Thursday. I realise that the outward leg may put me into the peak fare times so if it was much cheaper I could travel up late on Monday evenings.
It is a shame that they don't have a season ticket that can be used once a week! Anybody got any good ideas on split tickets or other cheaper alternatives?
Thanks so much,
K
P.S. I have a young persons card.0 -

Booking about a month in advance gives prices of around £26 for the trip to Darlington & £22.50 on the way back BUT note that Thornaby Station is not anywhere near Thornaby town centre - though I recall that there is a taxi company at the station0
