    Hi im new to this and saw the show last night, can anyone help me find a cheap fare from cambridge to manchester off peak times.
    Thanks
    Try booking Cambridge to London & London to Manchester and get an Oystercard to pay for the Tube trip between London stations

    Check out the Mobiltix offer that Virgin trains have between London & Manchester

    You might get cheaper via Ely & Peterborough

    Trying to find the cheapset option for my mum to travel from Wakefield to Reading (definitely not via London, she wouldn't cope with the Underground!!!). SHe has a disabled persons railcard and is reasonably flexible about times as long as its not really early or late. There used to be a straight through train from Wakefield to Reading but this seems to have been withdrawn.
    Any suggestions gratefully received.
    She did try and get the people in the ticket office to check for her, but whilst they were sort of helpful, she still ended up paying over £60 I think and I'm sure she could have done better. She does need to book assistance and seats, so she does need to actually talk to a person when booking the tickets I think.

    Thanks

    Try booking Wakefield to Birmingham and Birmingham to Reading - Iwas using the NXEC website and was getting fares in the region of £5 for Wakefield to Birmingham and £10 for Birmingham to Reading

  • Having Trouble going south for xmas or new year then try this;

    Pay for any single from your start station to Edinburgh Waverly

    Edinburgh Waverly to Manchester Piccadilly Advance £10 (Trans Pennie Express)

    Manchester Piccadilly to Colwyn Bay, Bangor or Holyhead Advance £10 (This £10 advance ticket covers most stations in North wales but make sure its an Arriva Trains Wales Advance) :j

    Travelling out on the 7/11/08 is no problem, there are loads of cheap Advance tickets available @ £17.50

    However, cos you travelling back on a Sunday on the west coast line, Virgin/southern don't release their Advance tickets until nearer the day (sometimes as late as the monday before) due to Engineering works over the weekend :mad:
