Its looking around £60 return at the moment which is stretching me a bit getting to bristol by 11:15 and leaving Bristol after 16:40. Ive done some experimenting but its just resulted in me getting very confused and findiing far more expensive tickets... Im afraid I only just found out for certain im going so its next wednesday so finding an early ticket isnt exactly an option.
The Birmingham Cheltenham bit is definitely cheaper splitting at Cheltenham - but that could be cancelled out by dearer fares further north getting to Birmingham.0 -
Im looking to travel from Bath Spa to Blackpool no the 4th April leaving at around 17.35 and coming back on the 6th. I don’t suppose anyone know of any split tickets along this route do they?Val0

I needed a single from Newcastle to Preston, the standard fare is £58.60, the cheapest route I could find was £44.30. I tried spliting the ticket at Carlisle
Newcastle to Carlisle = £11.60
Carlisle to Preston = £7
Total = £18.60
making a saving of £40:rotfl:0 -
Hi
I have 2 journeys upcoming relating to a stag day and wedding
1. sat5apr portsmouth-harpenden (travel into london during day) return sun6apr (probably from bedford)
2. fri18apr portsmouth-bedford (travel after 930am)
I've taken a look at pompeyrich's earlier thread - options seem to include all zones travel card, southern and first capital connections daysaver tickets
I wasn't able to find a cost effective split point as there seems to be no avoiding a main london station
Any advice gratefully received :huh:0 -

Have you looked at megatrain for Portsmouth - London? (won't work on the Sunday though)
Don't understand about having to use London terminals though. Unless there's engineering work (haven't checked) you just transfer from a Southern daysave to an FCC one at Gatwick or East Croydon. Just the one change and you are there.0 -
Cheers - the day saves seem the best option - the more costly alternative route is into london waterloo then out via st pancras - megatrain didn't quite do the trick timewise but I'll investigate an all zones travel pass plus zone 6-bedford/harpenden as the london-bedford/harpenden singles/returns were pricy
Thanks again0 -

Try York. Don't guarantee it will work, but it's worth a try.
Advance purchase singles for the complete journey start at £14 if you can find them.0 -
I want to get from Skipton to Salisbury on the £28th March and back again on either 31st or 1st April?
Any hints0 -
Hi guys,
I have done split ticketing before from York to London Kings cross and saved quite well.
However I am wanting to Travel York to Kidderminster but not sure what best ticket purchasing is cheapest (Best split route). I am wanting to travel York - Kidderminster and need to arrive at kidderminster no later than 08:35 on 8th of April. Return on 9th Kidderminster to Scarborough leaving kidderminster at around 16:45. Any ideas on cheapest route? Didn't particuarly want to travel by train so early morning but with fuel prices I have little option.
Thank you in advanceLive for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0
